LONDON, England (CNN) -- British Prime Minister Gordon Brown unveiled plans Monday to sell off state assets worth an estimated £16 billion ($25 billion) as part of moves to reduce the UK's national debt.

The portfolio of "non-financial assets" set to be sold within the next two years include the Channel Tunnel rail link, student loan debt and the government's share in a uranium-processing company, Urenco.

now ****ing way!!!!

god dammit this man is a dick!

sorry for the language but come one, wasn't it bad enough that he sold all our gold at rock bottom prices (and that's when we were doing good), now he's having a garage sale, selling us off, piece by piece.

here's an idea. let's just not pay the debt we owe. seiously. let's just give ourselves a fresh start.

no wait, germany tried that already... didn't turn out so well.

edit - i wouldn't be at all surprised if this corrupt little man was somehow doing this to make a little extra money before he's finished with the destruction of this nation.

selling now means Brown would sell these assets under value. meaning we lose yet more of our money. no value whatsoever.

Everyone must remember when Gordon sold are Gold. announced it in advance and even told everyone on what day he was going to sell it.

the gold market over night plunged, the price of gold fell and Gordon the gopher sold 600 tonnes of gold. at the lowest price in 100 years.

within 7 days of selling it the gold price went back up again. If Flash Gordon would have kept hold of the gold and sold it today it would wipe three quarters of our debt away. whoosh just like that. That is how good Gordon is as a chancellor and prime minister.

Its all part of their scorched earth policy. Still I cannot see too many takers, they have been trying to sell some of this stuff for years.
