As Ron Paul supporters (Americans who voted for him and non-Americans who would have), it's okay for us to disagree! But let's not lose sight of what we share in the process!
This is a surprisingly rich interview that I think every Ron Paul fan should see. He addresses major issues, fleshes out the philosophy, and speaks strategically about some of the changes he'd like to see ahead.
This interview really shows us where Ron Paul is at right now and I think we'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm really disappointed that this video only has 10,000 views on Youtube, especially knowing what got circulated in its stead. I think the value of seeing the entirety of this interview is incomparably more important than the media smear about Social Security that was cherry picked as a personal attack against Dr Paul.
I think he could do a lot of good for the world of politics by mobilising the support he's accumulated in forming a real and credible alternative to the Demopublican hegemony. I can appreciate that it would be great wrench to break away from a party that one has supported all one's life, but really, he and the Republican party have very little in common now, do they? A lot of the things he seems to be believe in are the exact opposite of what the Repubs stand for. I think it would be a very good thing if he could make use of this support to build something constructive.
Life is a hideous business, and from the background behind what we know of it peer daemoniacal hints of truth which make it sometimes a thousandfold more hideous.

Im a little torn on that. Id like to see the party changed from the inside. And I also understand if he had been running third party this election most people still wouldnt know who he is. On the other hand, he didnt get the nomination, so there wouldnt be anything to lose at this point running 3rd party. He wouldnt win, but he'd do better then any other whos tryed. If he did well enough it would send a strong message to both parties.
Some things are true, even if you dont believe them.

If he had declared a 3rd party run close to a year ago, I agree he would have made history on multiple counts in a truly epic run. I would have called it breaking Perot's glass ceiling. Could a disciplined statesman like Ron Paul not get 33.3% of America's vote if everyone knew who he was? I think he could. Should we lose hope now that he's retiring? I've been wanting to hear from you preacherman to see what you've been thinking lately.
My slant was always to pull Obama voters into the movement. Not only so Ron Paul wouldn't get blamed for throwing the election over to Obama, but more because most Democrats should be voting for Ron Paul anyway. For instance, here's my personal Paulbot appeal to leftist Tree-Huggers like myself:
My views on Youtube ground to a halt the day I got a "3rd party notice" slapped on the video. *sigh* I built the video for the song "Children of the Sea" by Black Sabbath but I couldn't even publish it for viewing in the United States. So, I had to patch it up around 'Magic Power' by Triumph and I was less than happy with the final result. If you live outside the US territories, you can view the video (as it was intended to be) by viewing here:
I understand you guys' intense disappointment with this! I appreciate you all standing up for principle; it's a beautiful thing. Let's not let gentlemanly debates about strategy alienate us from one another or the movement, shall we?
I might be wrong about Rand Paul. Looking at all history the odds are against me. I admit that. But from this very history, I can see along with you, how special Ron Paul really is.
Does Rand change the system or does the system change him? Is his voting for Iran Sanctions the beginning or the end of his concessions, or as you eloquently coined it, his compromise. I'm rolling the dice on this one I know, but I do feel good about it.
Anybody who supported Ron Paul SHOULD vote for Johnson.
If one actually believes that both parties are the same and equally corrupt, one should vote for Johnson.
My prediction is that most Paul supporters will be seduced by the sophistry of the 2 party system and vote for the lesser of 2 evils.
I'm going to vote for Johnson, unless I'm too busy on that day or some torrid details about Johnson's twisted love affair happens to come out. Frankly, he's not going to receive enough votes to ever receive such scrutiny. Nevertheless it's not that I don't have the discipline to adhere to Ron Paul's principles. I would just as well write-in Ron Paul than do anything else because Ron Paul is the one who's been battle-tested against the gang of 535 for over 30 years.
It's true that Ron Paul's credentials cannot be doubted.
Having been voting for third party, usually Libertarian, candidates for quite a few years, all I can say is that I feel better the next morning, knowing I did not vote for the status quo.
Johnson's record as governor is very good.
Have not heard of his 'twisted love affair', but whatever it is, that just makes him human. Voting for an angel is not a choice.

Hear hear! The twisted love affair was a reference to the hypothetical smear job that someone would be motivated to put out if Johnson's campaign was going to take out the two glamor boys. Agree with your comments.
My hero isn't a rock star. He isn't a professional athlete, or an actor, or a model or a billionaire or even a famous novelist. He is a humble, 76-year-old man who has spent the biggest part of his life spreading the message of peace, mutual respect and individual liberty. In a million years, I never would have guessed I would admire a politician. But he's not really a politician. He's just an honest, courageous man. My hero is Ron Paul.--IDK

Well, Im not feeling very good about our political situation at all. Even minus the Rand Paul situation. For now Ive basicaly given up hope of turning anything around in this election cycle. Im more focused on continuing to inform the people. Maybe one day there will be enough of us to turn the tide.
BTW that is messed up you couldnt play your video in the US. Whats up with that?

Your video may include the following copyrighted content: "Dio - Black Sabbath-Children Of The Sea", sound recording administered by: WMG
What does this mean? Your video is blocked in these locations: Germany, United States, United States Minor Outlying Islands, United States Virgin Islands
Which is "patently" absurd since the song was already plastered all over Youtube for years from multiple users.

I have done some research on Gary Johnson, and personally, the more I read about him , the less I like him.
He is pro abortion, for open borders and letting in illegal aliens, and has waffled on his position on Cap & Trade ( Believing that humans are causing global warming )

Hmm I thought I agreed with him on everything but that doesn't sound good to me either. I don't know if humans cause global warming or not but a global problem requires a global solution, not bandaids that hobble our output vs. foreigners.
Open borders are a bit more complicated. If we're against open borders, are we for closed borders? Consider this South Park clip (assume a popular Mexican nationalistic movement in the US combined with a crappy US economy) : http://www.southpark...g-the-wrong-way
