Ashley-Star*Child Posted June 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2005 Instead of repeating myself with the whole, long sordid story, I will answer in 3 words. Angels.....of....Enoch.
Skinnyal Posted June 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2005 Just a thought..... Started with trial and error. Add a 'few' years of experience. Addition of skills through the trial and error process, refining of skills. etc etc. Bob's yer uncle, ancient civilisations have 'fantastic' knowledge and capabilities. Maybe i need to look into it a bit more though, seems too fanciful.....

Discordia Posted June 8, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2005 (edited) Much like we learn today. Ie, the invention of the computer (we didn't need any alien/angel to teach us this, and it's quite an amazing feat). We are programmed to learn, so to speak, through trial and error. Also it's in man's nature to question things, hence learning. Edited June 8, 2005 by Discordia

Any Thoughts!!!! Lucid, how do you think we gained our knowledge? From technological advancements. Looks at the Greeks, Pythagoras for example. He created that mathematical equation that allowed greater buildings to be built. The wheel, fire... Another example, the tribes in Mexico, e.g. the Mayans. From cultures before them they adapted building those temples. Cultures either inheirt their technology or create their own. No angels or atlantis. aquatus1 Posted June 8, 2005 #9 Share Posted June 8, 2005 If the ancient civilizations had been taught their great advances, then the historical record would show a sudden appearance of technology, not the gradual growth that it does now.

Trail & Error? 663088[/snapback] Maybe the Atlanteans were taught by the Lemurians who were taught by refugess from Mu who were taught by space aliens who were taught by other space aliens who were taught by other space aliens who were taught by other space aliens who were taught by....... Someone had to start it all off. Maybe it was our ancestors with no help at all. Not all of them were as thick as modern humans you know
DJ_Quinn Posted June 8, 2005 #13 Share Posted June 8, 2005 People are overlooking the obvious, that it was time-travelers from the future who traveled back in time and taught the ancients some of their technology. I can understand why some people feel it was aliens, because of the ancients obsession with astronomy and all of the legends about people coming from the sky, but it was really time travelers from our own earth. Pyxis Posted June 8, 2005 #14 Share Posted June 8, 2005 Yeah but the ancients looked to the stars for answers. They used them for navigation, signs from the gods, to predict the future, probably a whole lot of things. I think it was trial and error. If one thing didn't work then they'd try another. I do think human civilization is a little older than most think. Don't ask me for evidence it's just my opinion. But I don't think it was handed to us by angels, or aliens, or even time travelers. Sounds like one of those paradox things that just give me a headache.

I have a theory that the Bermuda Triangle is a time warp that takes people from the present back to the dawn of time, who then teach the ancients their secrets. Mr Ed Posted June 8, 2005 #17 Share Posted June 8, 2005 lmao, well, it is certainly an entertaining theory. I have a theory that one day some people will stop thinking that ancient civilisations were taught by aliens or time travellers- outrageous I know. Atlantis Rises Posted June 8, 2005 #19 Share Posted June 8, 2005 100% normal? Really now. The first known record of strange happenings in the Bermuda Triangle was Christopher Columbus, his compass failed him, a flame from the sky came down, and a 100 to 200 feet wave carried his ship about a mile away, then it died down. Luckily, his three ships were spared from the Bermuda Triangle. Flight 19: All communications with Flight 19 were lost. Then a plane that could go in the water was sent to search for them. It was never seen again. In the morning, the largest air-sea search in history was taking place: 242 planes, 19 ships, and more later on. After five days, the search was called off. And it is still a mystery, not the only one, either. The Amelia Earhart disappearance. And...The story of an island appearing and disappearing in the B.T. when no island was on any map. And every since then, people have disappeared without a trace leaving their boats, ships and other water craft, without a crew, to float aimlessly until found. No human remains or foul play have every been noted. Just disappearance. So normal? I think not!
