Question about a picture..possible orb?

Pink Glitter

Recommended Posts

I was just looking through my pictures of my little girl a few hours ago that I just uploaded onto my computer. Now I am a bit of a skeptic when it comes to orbs and things that may look like ghosts in a picture, but my grandmother passed away today around the same time I took these pictures of my daughter outside. My daughter and my grandmother were somewhat close especially since my daughter is the youngest of her great-grandchildren. I have never noticed any orb like shapes in any pictures I have taken ever in my life, but noticing this in the picture today made me almost a believer! I would like to think of it as my grandmother watching over my little girl, but I am not for sure! It may just be the sunlight or some kind of photo error! I took it with my Kodak digital camera. I thought I would post it here and get some feedback from all of you. What do you think it is? An orb of somekind, or just some photo error? I am very curious! Please if you have the time, I would love to hear your opinions!

The one in the upper right is a spot on the lens, the one in the lower left is unclear. Could be a smudge or could be an orb since it's so close to the child. Some spirits tend to hover near small children and babies. Did you see the orb yourself or only in the pic?

I did not see the orb myself, until I was looking at the picture. I can't see the orb in question to the lower left you had mentioned. Where exactly to the lower left? Near the ball or more near my little girl? I only saw the orb to the right. How can you tell it is a spot on the lens with the orb in question to the right? Please forgive me for I am very new to all of this.

Thanks for your quick response!

You know...I was just looking through some more pictures that I had taken earlier on today when I was having my little girl model some poncho I had made for a friend and noticed some orb like shapes in these pictures as well! I would love to hear any opinions on these pictures as well! They aren't as noticible as the other picture.

Thank you primordial for your condolences! They are greatly appreciated!

It is so strange but I have been noticing things differently now! Like the light in the bathroom last night flickered strangely and then went off for about 2 seconds and then went back on, when all the other lights were on in the house and did not do this. I would like to think it was my grandmother saying "Hey I am still here!" :) The strangest thing was last night when I was posting these pictures here....I could have sworn I heard a voice come through on my computer! It kind of freaked me out, so I turned it off really quick! Then I shook it off because I was up pretty late last night and could have been hearing things! But after watching White Noise awhile back, it got me thinking! I will definetly keep posting more pics if and when I ever see an orb like shape appear in any of the pics, or maybe something else!

Has anyone else had anything like this happen to them when a loved one passed on recently? Also please don't hesitate to leave more opinions about my pictures! I find this all so very interesting!

Thanks!

Wow that is pretty amazing, especially since they have come up in numerous pictures. Perhaps it is your passed loved one, or perhaps a guardian for the little girl? Did she have any special connections with your grandmother? Perhaps she is watching over her?

Hey thanks Bogeyman for the link! Hey maybe it was dust or light, but the one in her pink vest is just strange to me...it was taken in the shade...maybe it was light bouncing off the back window, I don't know! I would like to think it is my grandmother though, maybe even a guardian angel! :)

Flame Thrower, my little girl and my grandmother were just close, in fact a few weeks ago when I visited her in the nursing home, she didn't say much at all! Mostly my daughter's name over and over and over again! She kept saying, "She's so cute! I love her!" It was real sweet!

Thanks for all the opinions! I wonder if there is a way I can find out exactly what it is in the picture. We have a photographer in the family, I wonder if he could maybe run some tests of some kind on the pictures! Hmmmm...

It could very well be your grandmother guarding your daughter if there was some sort of a special connection. Or perhaps your grandmother simply making her presence known within the family, maybe telling you that she's watching for all? Just some ideas. ^_^

i am in no doubt that the first picture you posted is lens flare from the angle of the sun you took the picture in. it happens when bright lights enter the lens at an angle that let the light bounce around inside and then it hits the sensor in a weird way, or so i understand it.

judging from the angle of the shadow on the 3rd picture i would say this also is the case.

ive taken a picture to simulate the effect.

i hope this is helpful, let me know what you think

Hey jonb!

I think that picture you took is very interesting...it probably is the same scenerio as my pictures, but it's just so strange that my other pictures (I snap one after the other constantly, (toddlers move so quickly :) ) didn't show anything like that. But thanks for your explanation. I suppose anything is possible!

Thanks again jonb!

I'm a professional photographer and these "orbs" are 100% lens flare. In every single image, the sun is behind the little girl shining at the camera.

Here is an example from a photo I shot (This was taken a long time ago when I was still new to photography) where the sun was at a similar angle. The only difference between yours and mine is the difference in our cameras and lenses, level of natural light and angle. I was at the top of a mountain in a different part of the world and some of the sunlight was going through the trees which was breaking it up some.

The reason that it doesn't show in every picture is because it all has to do with the angle of the light across the surface of the lens. For instance, I took some photos from the top of the Haleakala Volcano in Maui this morning and there were a few times that lens flare could have been a problem. A simple change of angle (lowering the shot down just slightly or taking two steps to the right so the angle is slightly different) keeps me from getting anymore shots like the one above.

Hey Rayce thanks so much! Everything you posted makes perfect sense!! Thanks so much! This saves me a trip from going into town and asking my husband's cousin to take a look at the picture and tell me what it is (He is a photographer too)

Once again thanks!
