Not for the faint of heart.....!

I know we've discussed the American Iraqi war recently. However i feel i must show you these pictures so we can all see what war does. If this is what human beings are capable of, i dont want to be one.

I never actually realized how bad it was in Iraq. Read on, but i warn you, the links at the bottom of the page aren't for the faint of hearted

Tony Blair has said that if a million people marched against the war in Iraq it would still not be as many as Saddam had killed in his wars. He also said that removing Saddam (by mass bombing and ground invasion) was "humane".

It all sounded good at the time didn't it..

Unbelievable...........

Fact 1: Saddam was placed into power by the CIA to work on their behalf.

Fact 2: Saddam was armed and funded by Britain and the United States in the war against Iran with its appalling loss of life.

Fact 3: Saddam has been supplied with his chemical, biological, and other weaponry by the United States and Britain, not least by the father of President Bush.

Fact 4: As a result of British and American-led sanctions a million young children have died in Iraq since the Gulf War in 1991 - Secretary of State Albright admitted on US television to half a million child deaths from sanctions in 1996.

Fact 5: Radiation left by the bombing of Iraq has led to an explosion in leukaemia and horrendous birth defects that still continue.

Fact 5 continued: maybe pictures can speak where words cannot

Like i said these are not for the faint hearted.

Mr X as much I appreciate everyone has a right to speak and post whatever they feel is relevant.

BUT

I have kept quiet about things like this so far but feel now enough is enough... We all know the wrongs and rights of the situation in the Middle east, we can as you have done research into and/or all you have to do is switch on the tv, radio and pc and it is there in ur face all the time(living next to a Royal Navel Dockyard also doesn't help).

This is where this Forum is so wonderful, it leads you to think about the enigma's, the wonders, the puzzles of this world, and to have a little fun at the same time. It's to many a form of escapism from the world that we know, into the world we don't.

So as I said as much as I appreciate people's freedom of speech and posting etc, can we not have it thrown in our faces time and again thank you for listening unsure.gif

i find your ethics to be of a very high standard, X, and i appreciate your concern for the less fortunate... BUT we are not monsters.

i think you walk a fine line here. maybe you need to consider that the very people you try to convince to see things your way are the ones that you insult. the world is an evil place, but i assure you that there are two or more sides to every story. you present those facts as if the US/UK were evil and Iraq was an innocent victim. this is clearly not the case. while no one likes war, from time to time it is a necessity.

admit it or not, you are a product of war- it is part of humanity and evolution. when war is waged now it is not taken lightly and civilian casualties are minimized as often as possible. what will actually remedy this horror in Iraq is war. until we rid Iraq of that b****** in charge, people will continue to suffer- its not our fault, its his. if we allowed open imports for Iraq, Saddam would attempt to use them for making weapons to wage war. so, im supposing that this is your solution. war waged against us is surely better than war waged against those innocents. maybe we should allow him to poison us and just swallow our pride. we could all have big peace rallies espousing our humanitarian causes while the poison gases smother us all. dictators love the weak.

I agree with you Celtic, that's what I was trying to say in my last posts. MrX could use the most chocking pictures, Schwartz could use the most persuasive and ironic arguments, I think we already have an opinion made here. The only thing this kind of dispute can lead to is to hurt someone, and it is not the purpose of this forum...

well, im going to disagree and say that the title of this particular forum is the Community Board. why is discussing anything other than the Unexplained inappropriate? i love the Unexplained but i also like other subjects as well. im a member of the community and so is Mr. X. if he wants to discuss something that he feels he needs to discuss, more power to him. it doesn't bother me at all smile.gif

why do we constantly see these posts that come down on someone for posting an opinion that differs from the group's? im glad that Mr. X posted those links. there wasn't anyone standing with a gun over me and demanding i look at them and post how i feel about them. if you don't like it, don't click it. just don't try and censor the ones that care to post about it please.

DShwartz,

Yes your right this is the Community Board, its for us to celabrate a members birthday or say hello to someone new, congratulate each other for reaching new levels ect

It's a forum notice board really, and not a place to get WAR thrown in our faces.

Odin,

If I don't want to see these things I won't read them but when it spills into an area where I look frequently how can I not see it?!!!

I Don't mean to offend anyone, but please take it elsewhere.

Oh look it's been moved, Nah! nah! nah! nah! nah!!!! tongue.gif

No and there wasn't strangely enough when I looked...... BUT that doesn't mean to say that it needs to be posted on here. If you want to read or talk about WAR...FINE! but why on here surely there are other places and forums that deal with kind of heinous subject in deth and in full. AND with people that will argue about what's good and bad about it.

And did my eyes decieve me ...... nope they didn't

just don't try and censor the ones that care to post about it please.
CARE about it...... well for *%$@S sake!!!! My dad was in the Navy for 25 years and could be called up, my brother and two cousins are in the TA'S and they have been drafted out, not to mention that I live right next to the Naval Dockyard in Plymouth so can see what is going on for myself.... Care you say....... nearly everyone in this city, (it' s a pretty big city) knows some one that is either in the Marines or the Navy, so it affects us all in one way or another as in the Bigger picture it affects us all too.!!!!

So please...... DON'T lecture me or for that matter Halo who lives in a town that has a Marine Barracks in it.........on the fact that if we don't want to read don't click on it I will quote Halo

when it spills into an area where I look frequently how can I not see it?!!!

Also again Mr Schwartz it seems that as soon as there is an arguement, there you are again, adding fuel to the fire AGAIN........Odin can I also say that you have tried to bring this subject up before on a Sunday in chat we all agreed that it wasn't the place really to discuss it.....

While I value people's opinions why oh why does it have to spill on to this forum, a place I class as a sanctuary

And I stand by what I said....thank you for listening

Albright is proof that man and fish can successfully mate, she is a liar just as her boss and his entire administration was.

Yes we armed Sadam...the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Its a general rule of life when ones back is up against the wall and sometimes it backfires, it backfired and we are going to correct it. Iran was more of a clear and present danger at the time.

If Sadam would protect his citizens like most leaders of civilized nations under attact would do and not put them up as human shields these things wouldn't happen. He has all those palaces and underground bunkers to hide his innocent citizens but nooooo they are for him to hide his weapons and himself. Sadam is a coward and it is he who did the damage to his people not us. Sadam is the enemy not the United States or England.

The U.S.A and England helped a lot of people in their histories, post pictures of the happy healthy children that we saved. You won't find too many of them on CNN or Network TV, just the ones that we supposedly hurt.

can't you just let the people who want to discuss something have their discussion? its not violating 'your sanctuary'. heaven forbid laugh.gif

Theres a huge conspiracy theory behind the war on iraq, didn't you all know that? In that case i see it as a topic of the unexplained............ tongue.gif

Anyways, i think Bush should challenge Saddam to a debate....... excl.gif After all whats he afraid of..................?

Saddam challenges Bush to TV debate

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has challenged President George W Bush to a live, international television debate about the war on Iraq, CBS News reported today.

But the White House has responded by saying it's "not a serious statement."

CBS News anchor Dan Rather said he had an exclusive interview with Saddam, who wanted a debate with Bush similar to US presidential campaign debates.

CBS reports: "The Iraqi president also flatly denies that his al-Samoud missiles are in violation of United Nations' mandates and indicates he does not intend to destroy them or pledge to destroy them as demanded by chief U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix. Blix had set a deadline for at least a promise by this weekend. "

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Saddam's apparent refusal to destroy the al-Samoud missiles was the most notable part of the interview.

The debate wars, bring them on.
