A Church That Embraces All Religions

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

Clad in proper Pacific Northwest flannel, toting a flask of “rocket fuel” coffee typical of Starbucks’ home turf, Steven Greenebaum rolled his Prius into a middle school parking lot one Sunday morning last month. Then he set about transforming its cafeteria into a sanctuary and himself into a minister.

Many Christian fundamentalists regard this as heresy. Or at the least, a form of apostasy. It takes the concept of love and mutates it into "acceptance" as though they are interchangeable. IOW if one is not willing to accept the doctrine of all others then they are haters. Kind of puts a well meaning Christian who actually is trying to love his neighbor as himself, into a bad situation. "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me" We are exhorted to believe this above all else. It is not hate to cling to this message. We need not hate others who do not accept this message - they are free spirits as well. Everyone has to choose.
