I miss their old stuff, the newer stuff just feels edited and fake, like they lost where they came from as ghost hunters and are sell outs, sucks but it is what it is

i hear you. The last episode when Zak fell down the stairs hilairous. That was just for show but The first place they investigated i have read about in books and it was interesting to see that light. You could tell that they were serious about not hearing footsteps in the woods(although Hollywood can pull some amazing effects)

While I believe some of it is real, but in the latest episode where they were at the cemetery and they played a separate group's EVP recorder of some voice saying "I will kill you" , the voice's sounds exactly the same as voice modifying software that came with my Logitech headset.

They have to justify their budget for every series and keep the Networks happy,so it will only ever be fictionalised reality for want of a better phrase..

Too be perfectly honest all their EVP's are distinctly dodgy and I struggled really to make any of them out.At the end of the day believers will hear what they want to hear....

I hear you on that but there EVP from the cemetary last night were they couldn't make XXX is coming.

If you listen closely i thought i heard Satan is coming...... Most of the time if they can't make out what the first words are i can't either, and i'll back it up on the DVR a couple of times to try and make something out. It would make sense considering there was Satanic worship in that Graveyard.

I feel their reactions seem quite genuine, however, all in all it is just an entertainment show, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. It's still fun to watch though, i enjoy it.

Yeah, but at how many of the same "genuine" reactions does it take for you to not be able to find them genuine anymore? There must be at least 42 "genuine" reactions between the 3 stooges in one episode alone.

Surprisingly Yes.

So I am skeptical as always regarding these shows especially since Ghost Hunters faked a lot of their evidence. Is there any indication at all that this show is more objective or do they present evidence and fabricate things to further their viewership? I mean most shows like this would probably have that sort of motivation so I have to ask if anyone feels that they are legitimately presenting evidence in an unbiased manner?

I love Ghost Adventures. I watch very little TV, but GA is a show I don't miss. That said, I believe that much of it is faked. If they didn't find some evidence EVERY week, they wouldn't have much of a show. It's pure entertainment, in my opinion. That's partly why I enjoy it so much.

I always wonder why no matter where they go they find a spirit, and i've seen GH go into the same location and find nothing... It does make you wonder why others can't get the same results in the same location.....

Just thought I'd come back and share another one my thoughts. This is all my opinion.

So...this is the TV industry. Their priorities are money, ratings, and entertainment. No one really cares about proving a point about the paranormal when it's television. As long as you're watching the show and they're getting the money, I don't think they care if you think the show's fake or not.

It's business. Business is all about making money. And if making money means faking evidence, they don't seem to mind.

Who cares if it's faked?

It's entertainment and if you're watching it to find evidence of paranormal activity, then you're watching the wrong show.

My favourite bit is always when Zac tells everyone ssshhhh and no-one's talking. He does it quite often.

Cracks me up.

Who cares if it's faked?

People who want some sense of excitement in their shows.

It's exactly the reason I stopped watching Storage Wars after learning the items were mostly placed to make good TV. The magic was gone.

Huh? You watch GA because you want excitement? So you switched to Storage Wars?

H'm.

So, what did you all think of that image Bill Chappell caught with his Kinect motion tracker at the Colorado Grande Casino?

That was pretty neat, especially when it waved back at him.

Look here when he explain and talk about his Kinect-device and software: http://www.youtube.c...AqnltyU#t=1445s

Look from here on where they get the image on screen, reacting on command and wave at them when Billy ask it to: http://www.youtube.c...AqnltyU#t=2150s

The Kinect motion tracker peripheral has been re-purposed as a ghost hunting device, and was demonstrated in a recent episode of the Travel Channel's paranormal investigation show Ghost Adventures.

In Ghost Adventures, paranormal technology inventor Bill Chappell outfits the Kinect's 3D motion tracking camera with custom software specifically designed to seek out and read human forms.

In an empty room, the device registers a small figure that appears to move on command,

.

Chappell notes that this is one of the first times the specialized software has been used with the Kinect, admitting that the device requires further testing to verify its use.

Kinect INFO

The Kinect sensor is a horizontal bar connected to a small base with a motorized pivot and is designed to be positioned lengthwise above or below the video display. The device features an "RGB camera, depth sensor and multi-array microphone running proprietary software", which provide full-body 3D motion capture, facial recognition and voice recognition capabilities.

The depth sensor consists of an infrared laser projector combined with a monochrome CMOS sensor, which captures video data in 3D under any ambient light conditions. The sensing range of the depth sensor is adjustable, and the Kinect software is capable of automatically calibrating the sensor based on gameplay and the player's physical environment, accommodating for the presence of furniture or other obstacles.

So, are they blatantly faking all this, or is it something else?

What do you think?

I did watch both for different forms of a "thrill of the hunt", I guess. But my point was that the magic was lost in both once I lost the sense of realism. There was no switch of anything.

Yeah, it's hilarious. That I didn't mind the thick layer of fake so much, because they just look so funny arguing and blowing up at each other. It's like pro wrestling without the spandex.

So, are they blatantly faking all this, or is it something else?

Blatantly faking anything is always an option. Like pointing a Kinect off camera in another room and feeding it to that computer screen in front of that guy. Now Microsoft gets free advertisement, the guy gets paid, and we all get spooked. TV win. I would have chosen the brick toss for scrutiny, instead of this.

Well, I hardly need no explanation to how this could be faked, I'm very aware of how it could be done.

What's more interesting is if it was real.

I really hope we could get some more info about the specialized application modifications he made of the Kinect-system and the analysis and conclusions they made after checking their system as they said they would do.

It would be interesting if they would use this system in the future if it pans out. Or maybe it was a system glitch and was discarded.

But in that case, it must have been a very interactive glitch.

If you want to talk about the ´brick toss` maybe we should start a separate thread.

Considering they have faked many things before, and considering no one has evidence of ghosts except these frauds, and frauds like them, I would venture a guess of " blatantly faked ".
