How long will China finance America?

I wonder if China will ever lose it's dependency on US exports and decide dump these US bonds and bills onto the global market...bye bye dollar. Although I can't see that happening for many years. I'm not very clued up on the subject though. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

They cannot! If they do so, they would overnight bankrupt themselves and have a revolution. Everyone in this world is tightly linked to another. China is more than others interested in strong dollar, as they have $2trilions of them, only some exceptional circumstances may force it to a conflict. For example if South Korea or Russia start selling these bonds first, but for them this is also a great loss.

Imo, that is one reason why China and Russia are lobbying for a different "world currency" than the US$.
