Thoughts on Echovox?

I recently downloaded Echovox after hearing many great things about it. I always say that I'm a half skeptic, half believer, and as of now this app continues to keep me right smack dab on point with that belief.

I "investigate" for fun. And yes, I use that term very loosely. I have very little experience in the field, but I have reviewed and examined countless investigations over the years. That being said, the one thing that always persists in capturing my intrigue is the use of the Ghost Box. It's responses can be chalked up to individuals interpreting gargled jibberish into something they want to hear. In terms of mathematics and the element of chance, out of all the words given in reply to your questions, chances are something will sound like a sensible reply. But only by chance. These are the logical reasons that could argue the validity of a device such as the Ghost Box. But still, I can't help but lend some belief.

Here's my recent personal account:

Two days ago I downloaded Echovox. After I toyed with the settings and start asking a few simple questions, I got blips of words, nonsensical jabberings and maybe a handful of short word responses that were a bit too difficult to interpret with confidence. Still, I figure it just takes time and getting used to. So later in the day after I purchased it, I took the dog for a walk. I plugged my headphones in and just listened as I walked through the neighbourhood. I listened for indicators, key words that might show some intelligence. But nothing came.

I then embarrassingly enough began whispering words under my breath, as so passer-Byers didn't think I was rambling to myself. I can't recall the initial question, it might have been asking for a name, to which nothing clear came through. I then asked,

"How old are you?"

And with a clear as day response, I heard "Young. Twenty-three." No cut off words, not scrambling sounds. It was the clearest audio I had heard since using the device. And the most sensible answer I received. The part that got me was the reply was not just a number, - as some of you may know, majority of responses are very short and abrupt - it was a descriptor of how young the person was followed by the number.

It's small occurrences like this that continue to draw my intrigue. But I wonder, is it all a chance system? What experiences have you had using a Ghost Box device or any similar device? Any recordings or great experiences to share?

This occurred while walking around your neighborhood with your dog and others about one day.

I erroneously assumed they only worked when dark and creepy. ;)
