Group's planned sex party draws protests

ARBIS, Sweden, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- People living near a theater where organizers say they will hold Sweden's largest swinger party, said such an event shouldn't happen in their neighborhood.

A swinger party set to the theme of the 1999 Stanley Kubrick film "Eyes Wide Shut" -- which contains a scene depicting a masquerade orgy -- is scheduled for Oct. 19 at the Arbis Theatre in Norrkoeping, Sweden.

The swinger group Club Adam and Eva is hosting the party -- and 425 invited guests have paid 650 kroner ($106) each to attend.

Now,now... I thought the time when we were telling people what to do behind closed doors was over?

I don't know much about Sweden...I know they are not quite as ideal as they were a few years back...they were one of the shining "Nordic examples" of functioning socialism...Hey!....don't shoot the messenger, it's a fact...er....was a fact.

I have heard Sweden has had a weird movement....making men actually have to sit down on a toilet to urinate....I have no idea if that is true or is an internet "urban legend"....

I have also heard this is a growing Islamic population....another "story" I do not have the evidence to back up.

I do know that the Nordics do have a tendency to be a little freaky...(hey I have Germanic blood so I am speaking from personal interests!....lmao)

Shame that people have the idea they can have a say in what people do in their own "castles"...

My personal political and philosophical views are very freedom oriented...you are free to live as you wish as long as your freedom does not hamper or hinder the freedom of another...what people do behind closed doors...a private nudist club or a private beach....is none of my business....

I can kind of understand the locals being a little ill at ease if it's a theater they use. I might be a little icked out wondering if the seat I'm in was used for an orgy. Other than that, hey, it's a private venue where people paid to have a private party.

Leave the orgies alone.

What an adult does is their own business.

You can always leave a box of tissues on your regular seat, I`m sure they would not mind cleaning up after themselves for you.

Why use the seats?

I'f im renting a theater for this, I'm using that stage and possibly inviting an audience to cheer us on

Know how you're skeptical about what I say about voodoo.

Let's just say I'm skeptical about you being cheered on at an orgy.

Just sayin.

I wish everyone could just let each other live.

I understand that it might not be everyone's cup of tea..... but I am amazed that people would feel so strongly about it that they would protest against it!!

It's not something I would be interested in going to myself, but I'd be down the street watching to see if anyone I knew was going lol.

If money is being paid then isn't this just a form of prostitution? If prostitution is legal there (?) then I guess people can't really complain.

There may be zoning considerations... Is it in a NO Zone (Non-Orgy)? Or a WOOT Zone (Wild Organized Orgy Theater)?...

All that aside... I wonder if Orgies are like Nude Beaches.... Those that go... probably shouldn't... :o ("Oh my eyes! My eyes!")

I believe the money paid is to the organisers rather than the people. The swingers don't get paid, they are paying to join in the party.

You're right. That resident might have legal ground, but how do you know who goes to nude beaches? ;)

That my friend is (as they say) a long and (semi)sordid tale...

Fortunately for everyone there, I was fully clothed...
