X-Master Zing Posted August 26, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Hi. I'm new here. Not that anybody can say for sure, but I want to know if i've been abducted. I was in my bed one night, it was after midnight, but I was wide awake. Suddenly, I felt really, really scared. A sharp tingling sensation spread all through my body. I tried to move, but I couldn't. I tried screaming, but my voice had completely gone. I saw a dark figure go past my window. Whatever it was, it was in my room. Then, I was lying in a completely different position. I couldn't remember going to sleep, or being sleepy. I think it was a dream, but I'm not 100% sure. What're your thoughts? -X-Master Zing

cryptosporidium137 Posted August 27, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2005 (edited) May have been an abduction, like patstp said "The missing time part never lies" Once that happens you know something has happened. Megalomania Posted August 27, 2005 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Dude, when you're asleep, you don't notice that time passes anyway.... You may have just fell asleep, fallen into an REM, dreamt about the shadow, the paralysis, then moved during your sleep. And I agree, sounds like Sleep Paralysis, if the REM is out of the question... Euphoric Deception Posted August 27, 2005 #9 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Yep, I've been through that and it scared the crap out of me at first to tell you the truth. ALien^Intent Posted August 27, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Ive had sleep paralysis many times and what you describe sounds a little different from what I had. I never had a presence in my room like you said ,it was more like someone woke me up but they werent they're when I awoke. Im gonna leave this as an unknown, im not gonna be narrow minded and say that science has the answer for everything.
X-Master Zing Posted August 27, 2005 Author #12 Share Posted August 27, 2005 Thanks, guys. I talked to someone, and they said the tingling and the paralysis was from lying in one place too long, the figure was a shadow, (there are many trees in my backyard) and the voice-loss was because I was asleep. But still, it scares me...
OneEye Posted August 27, 2005 #13 Share Posted August 27, 2005 I'd say sleep paralysis. I'd explain the seeing the shadow with just being so freaked out that you thought you've seen something. Kind of like you get done watching a scary movie and you keep seeing things out of the corner of your eye. Welcome to the forum!!! And I'm glad you didn't come here just screaming "ZOMG!!1!! I WAS ABDCT'D!!11ONE!!11" Thanks for that and looking for another explaination, just in case.

muddyfrog Posted August 30, 2005 #15 Share Posted August 30, 2005 What you described sounds exactly like sleep paralysis. Link 811496 not to me. If they cant move....they cant be in another place. 814766 I've woken up paralyzed afew times (mabey 10 or so)... I coudnt even move my eyes... I could hear and see though. Its really scary, you get a sense of fear (unrational fear i should say). But I never saw anything or felt a presense. WAIT... Once I did srry bout that. I heard a voice (I think it was not really there). thats it though. And I too think thats what it was, Sleep paralysis. I have a lot of dreams in which im paralyzed. That comes (in my dream) from ghosts. They will say something like "You can't move now!" I've never been interested in ghosts so I don't know why I have those dreams so much. I've also never heard of ghosts paralyzing you, but thats what I dream. It used to scare m. (be too afraid to sleep).
