This guy posts the following on another forum I frequent.  I guess you would call this the anti-evolutionists view of bigfoot - this guy is a huge Answers from Genesis, young earther type:

I've yet to discount all the sightings, photos and videos. I've been studying it and I'm thinking that there is something out there. There are just too many credible sightings and encounters.

I have my own theory about what they are and that is demons. That is why none of them have been found or captured yet, because they live underground and only manifest when they want to. My theory is that satans plan is to try to add credibility to the evolution theory by manifesting different types of man apes, because evolution is losing the argument right now and he wants to keep it alive in order to get as many souls in hell as he can.

We know from NDE's that demons have a rotten smell, and that is the same smell that people report when some of the bigfoots are around.

Just never heard this take before.  I guess that's why there are a couple of young earth groups spending tons of cash looking for Bigfoot, Loch Ness, etc.

I wonder where he gets his statistics that evolution is "losing"?

I've never heard of people using Biblical reference to explain them......demons, and the tie in to NDE's is lovely. Using one Genera to establish a tie to another as proof. Old story really.

I worked with a lady many years ago who used the Bible as her only "empirical" source for the explanations for anything. She was big on demons as well it seemed.

We do?

Answers from Genesis has been peddling this evolution is losing **** for years. It's their job to make straw men.

Why would satan need bigfoot to "add credibility to the evolution theory" when we have real apes that prove our common evolutionary past?

From what I understand the majority of Americans do not believe in evolution anyway. Perhaps bigfoot is just a manifestation of what those willfully ignorant people fear the most...being related to apes.

Apparently this person hadn't read that part in the Bible that states "only God has full knowledge of the Earth and of the Universe".

That is an interesting take on things.  Believing in evolution gets you sent to hell, now does it?  Well I always knew I'd probably end up there for something or other.  May as well be evolution.

Thanks Rafter :)  This guy makes the other footers look almost normal!

This theory actually explains alot. Nothing about bigfoot but about some footers.  I used to be a Christian and a Footer and I can't see how to get from Bigfoot to Demons. But that may be just me.

It's not really that great a leap really. Many Christians and "Footers" share a common trait, they are faith based. While belief in a Supreme Deity and the cantons of a religion is often accepted by even people who don't believe in such things. "Footers" often share the same traits, they believe most everything they encounter is a Bigfoot, you see what I mean? The belief or faith drives then to find answers within the context of that faith or belief. As I said earlier, I have known people who put everything in complete Biblical context and when they couldn't then they use the Demonic explanation as a safe fall back position. Ok, there's nothing in the Bible that could be considered as proof of Bigfoots, therefore Bigfoots are Demonic creatures. I do recall having a discussion once over lunch with a person of similar belief about Dinosaurs. I said we have found all these bones, they don't match up to anything alive today and quick as a flash he said, those are ........let me see if I can recall exactly......'Satanic manifestations created to trip up Christians and create doubt among believers.' Or words to that effect. In his mind these creatures never existed, the bones, which aren't actually bones, but rocks, were put here by Satan, since Satan is the ruler of the Earth. According to his belief, Satan can't create life as God can so in order to create this illusion, he made them out of rocks. Trying to explain that over the course on millennium mineral exchange happens which transforms them was explained away as a Satanic lie.

Naturally, trying to explain to him what a fossil is and why they're rocks now instead of bones was pointless because this was his rationalization for them, in other words that was his story and he was sticking to it.

The thing I find sad about all this is that these people actually believe what they are saying. If it doesnt fit with anything in the bible, then it either does not exist, or it was satan's fault. And all those of us who do not believe them will spend the rest of eternity on a BBQ.  It's the same old answers time and time again with absolutely nothing to back up their ridiculous claims.

I feel a little less crazy for thinking there might be some lost ape person in the woods somewhere. Who would even think that stuff up?

Very true.

I've found that when I encounter someone like that it's best to leave them alone. I recall a quote from Thomas Payne:

"To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead."

Doesn't matter if the subject is politics, religion, a workout routine, race........when people have closed their minds to something, it all becomes wasted effort trying to get them to see things in a different light.
