skyguyjim Posted July 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Hello forum members, I am an avid observer of the sky both day and night;starting out in the early 1960s when there was a near total solar eclipse visible in the small town in Maine where I lived.It sparked my interest in meteorology astronomy and astronautics;having watched john Glen's flight into space on live tv as a kid in school.I have seen both Skylab;Mir spacestation and the ISS many times in my night sky over the years.Watched many lunar and solar eclipses but as of yet never seen a total solar eclipse.One will be visible in northern Maine in 2024 and hopefully will get to see it. I am somewhat open minded when it comes to ufos and the paranormal as I had couple experiences with ghost when I was 10 and if interested I might share the experiences with you.I grew up watching and loving the origional Twilight Zone and the origional Star Trek series on tv;both of which I still enjoy to this day.Am also a fan of Dale Earnhardt SR and Elvis and the origional knuckleheads The Three Stooges with Moe Larry and Curly.Also am a huge fan of Johnny Cash having seen him once live in concert in 1979 in Portland,Maine. A total eclipse, and I watched it near the town of Limestone, Maine... I know that was the date because it was my 10th birthday, and I thought it was pretty cool of my dad to arrange the eclipse just for me... (at least that's what he told me).... Just click on a user's name or their profile photo and the option to message them will appear. There's no need to give out your personal e-mail address. Also, you can self edit up to an hour. After that, contact a moderator if you want your e-mail address to disappear from this thread. The quickest method we be to hit the 'report' button under your post and ask for it to be removed.
