questionmark Posted October 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2012 Michael Brutsch, 49, a married computer programmer for a financial services company, primarily managed two 'subreddits', a type of user-managed forum, titled 'Jailbait' and 'Creepshots'. Under the pseudonym of Violentacrez, Brutsch presided over an "unending fountain" of images of scantily-clad underage girls taken from their Facebook profiles without their permission, as well as posting images and comments under the subreddits 'Misogyny' and 'Incest'. JGirl Posted October 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) the guy is a pig, but he is not doing anything illegal as far as i'm concerned. taking those pics from facebook is no different than taking any other image from the internet. the cat i use as my avatar was taken. i would venture to guess most of you have taken a shot of a person off the net and reposted it elsewhere, chances are you also addd a funny caption to at least one of them. these young girls put their pics up. they are able to be copied and redistributed like any other image. so be it. the ******* shots are against the law though i think. also extremely gross. trolling is not what this guy is doing. edit to add: the word "up skirt" is not allowed here unless i use a space?? I believe he was using those terms to get a high amount of hits. Though he isn't actually doing anything illegal at all. I also wouldn't call him the biggest troll, let alone troll. I think the media labelling anyone on the Internet doing anything illegal as a "troll" is just a ploy for an excuse for authorities to increase their control over the internet. MissMelsWell Posted October 26, 2012 #10 Share Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) So, someone I work with, his daughter ended up on Jailbait, her photo was submitted (not stolen) by someone she knew, who didn't like her. While his daughter was over 18, the problem wasn't really the picture, the problem was the comments posted by users and the site manager himself. They bordered very dangerously on slander and they used her real name on the site. While it would have been costly to sue, or fight... I suggested my co-worker have an attorney draft a threatening cease and desist letter and send it certified mail. He did that, and the picture came down the day the site managers received the certified letter, the comments came down as well. The biggest probelm is that she has a very unusual name, she's the only one in the country (possibly the world) and that picture, on that site, with those comments were hurting her abilty to get work and get into the colleges she wanted to get into.... if you Googled her name... that site was the first search result returned. I know it's hormone city and everything, but anyone can take those pictures off, and do anything to them. Not a smart thing to do, in my opinion.
