I bet this will be worth a lot of money to whoever discovered it, not only is it gold but being from the way back past makes it even that more valuable. I bet it could be worth over 3 million dollars or whatever money currency they use there.

Hi Oz

The person who discovered them will have no claim on the ownership of these coins. It would be nice to know what this hoard would be worth if discovered in a situation where selling them would be viable. The link below from the Mail Online (don't rely on a newspapers research) estimates the value at £300,000 ($500,000). With the right interest at the right time (or no interest at anytime) this figure could be well off the mark.

When I had first read the title I was thinking of thousands of coins.

Somehow, 108 coins doesn't seem to qualify as a "huge hoard"

But I am impressed how the original owner apparently hid the trove.

Oh it's quite okay.

I drank from the holy grail years ago.

I lost that too, some Jesus fellah apparently had it after me.

I wonder where it is now...

Retrace your footsteps and try and remember where you had it last...

Hope you get it back, it would go for a fortune on eBay!!

They are still going. Now they call themselves the "Knights of St John" AKA ST John Ambulance Service.(Australia) The higher echelons of that organisation still have knights and every bit of mystyche as the younger Freemasonry.

I bet those archeologists are thrilled by their discovery but are they as thrilled a those communal workers who found 8000 pounds worth of gold by the German border in Switzerland ... here If no one claims it it's theirs to keep.
