Talon Posted September 3, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2004 INQUIRY SET UP INTO CRASH An inquiry has begun into why an RAF Canberra crashed on an airbase runway, killing two of those on board. The two men died late yesterday while they practised emergency landings at RAF Marham, near King's Lynn, Norfolk. The third member of the crew, a navigator, is being treated in hospital after being injured when ejecting from the aircraft. RAF officials said he was not thought to have suffered serious injuries. Investigators are now examining the damaged plane, which is still lying on the runway, and are due to interview the navigator. Station commander Group Captain Bob McAlpine said flying from the base had been halted until investigators finished examining the aircraft. http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1149995,00.html
