Was just wondering what everyones favourite or most realistic ghost hunting tv show ?

mine has to be ghost hunters

just for the fact they try to disprove things first before they jump the gun and say OH MY GOD ITS PARANORMAL

I tend to use alot of techniques from them in my own team

so whats your favourite ?

What do you mean by "most realistic"

As in not Most Haunted where everything they hear is a bloody spirit, at least on Ghost Hunters they try find a rational explanation unlike Yvette and co who scream bloody murder when ever a floorboard creaks haha

Well, none are "realistic", they're all just for the entertainment value, and most of those lack that as well.

I used to watch Ghost Hunters during their first couple of seasons when they focused on debunking--the little bit of evidence they did find was neat and interesting at times, but it all had to be taken with a grain of salt. Then it became about faking as much evidence as they can, all for ratings. I don't watch it at all anymore. Though I'm still friends with Grant and talk to him a couple times every year.

That is pretty cool that you know Grant personally! I know most of its fabricated for rating reason but I guess I still enjoy it and how they use they use the equipment, I basically use it for learning about stuff and how to go about certain things to add to my team to make us better, I would never go out my way to fake activity though. there is no point and there is no need for it. if nothing happens nothing happens.

I'm friends with him, but not on a personal level. I see him at gaming conventions every year, put aside some time to talk with him. He knows me, he expects to see me every year. We chat for about 10 minutes, do some catching up, then we go our separate ways. I'm sure others are on that level of "friendship" with him as well. He's a very nice guy, humble and polite. He still helped fake evidence, and won't admit it, but that's just the nature of the TV show, I don't hold it against him. My mother is the big fan, though, I'm still trying to get her to Indy to meet him face to face one day. She's old though, and it's hard for her to get that set up on her end.

As for your desire to never fake evidence and activity, that's all I ever ask from so-called "paranormal investigators". I'm still waiting to see actual inarguable proof one of these days. Maybe you'll be the first person to provide it. Wouldn't that be cool?

I can but hope but not holding my breath, too catch an actual full apparition is about 100,000.000/1 chance. I have for the last week or so been going through the evidence from our previous investigation, which is taking longer than expected with the re listening over and over again trying to decide whats worth sharing and whats not etc and on top of that trying to get an actual website up and running Facebook does for now but I would rather have the website with links to our contact details, videos, evps, photos etc etc. currently trying to find a new camera as my one decided it had enough and died.

Well, that's only considering that they exist. If they don't, then the chance is 0.

Keep it up. Find anything interesting you're not sure about, post it here. Like I've said before, there are a lot of sharp, open-minded posters that can help you debunk it, or, just maybe, actually help you prove something. Just keep yourself civil and don't get angry if someone disagrees with you. PLEASE don't do that, it's getting really tiresome these days.

I never get angry if anyone disagrees with me I'm one of the first people in my group to go out my way to rule it out whatever it was.... I only post what I believe would start a good discussion... I have a couple on file right now, but I'm not ready to post yet as I want to be 100% certain its worth posting.

I love, love, love Ghost Adventures. I love that they are always using new technology, they try to debunk a lot of things, and the personalities of the investigators. I especially love how serious Zach takes himself, it makes the show so rich.

Although I am going to post this little segment I ripped from the file earlier, again I am not saying its paranormal its just out of place and no one heard or reacted too it at the time which is what I find most interesting..

I cant seem to find how to upload files so I will have to link it too zippyshare in order to get a link for it, what I heard comes around the 23 second mark on the file.

You actually need to start a new thread about it, this is about ghost hunting tv shows.

Ghost Hunters is more like an actual investigation. Ghost Adventures is a joke. Bunch of bros yelling and rinning around. Only reason the show is popular is becauseof Zaks teenage fangirls. His ego gets bigger every season. And yes, I watch..a guilty pleasure so to speak. I'll watch most paranormal shows because I'm an investigator, but GH is closest to what happens while investigating...which is usually little to nothing.

Ghsot Asylum is pretty bad, their gimmick is to jury rig a device every week to try and literally "catch" a ghost. Pretty lame. BTW they purport that Tennessee Wraith Chasers were around for a while. I know someone who auditioned for the show, says the team is entirely put together for the show, with a good ol' boy/hillbilly slant

I don't like any Ghost Hunting shows on TV really....they are all either too quick to confirm or too quick to debunk.

I was watching Ghost Adventures once and Aaron was sitting alone in an attic...when all of a sudden, a bird cage 'fell' off a shelf.

I went back a few frames and noticed the position of the bird cage had changed from how it was sitting on the shelf at the beginning and how it was sitting on the shelf just before it 'fell' and there were some obvious discrepancies.

I didn't really have any time for Ghost Adventures after that and even less time when Nick got fired.

TAPS seems to debunk everything...pretty much off the cuff.

No, the 'Ghost Shows' I watch aren't on TV, but on private channels.

My favourite of these is called "Chillseekers Ghost Hunt" by Keith Weldon:

(ooohhh there are some new eps on there I haven't seen yet...be back soon).

Good Cheap television. Possibly the worst attempt at hysteria and fakery I've ever witnessed. But if it keeps people with simple minds and less than average logic entertained that can't be all bad. About 75% of television these days in England is either repeats or seriously not worth repeating.IMO
