I wasn't sure if this was the right forum for this or not... Ebay sells stuff that could fall into different threads.

eBay has announced it will ban the sale of spells, hexes and magical items from its online auction site.
Yes - it actually used to allow it.
It seems that for years users have been taking to eBay to purchase love potions, artefacts with supposedly magical properties and spells for use in their daily lives.
But according to a post on its official blog, it will now be cracking down from September on "advice, spells, curses, hexing, conjuring, magic, prayers, blessing services, magic potions, [and] healing sessions".

Personally, I think it's past time that some of this foolishness gets taken off the sales rack.
Yes, I am a cynical and jaded jacknape. I try to see all three sides of the coin- do you?

Sweet though I must admit that I enjoyed the threads we got here because of them.

If people want to go outside & play Harry Potter then who is ebay to stop them? Personally I think that if your dumb enough to buy that crap then you deserve to loose a couple of bucks. & if they're cracking down on this, then why don't they bring the hammer down on haunted items as well. I saw a haunted watercooler on ebay once... & someone spent $350 on it. Really?! Who's haunting the watercooler? Must be Jim from accounting. He always wanted to be part of the conversation. Poor Jim.

Well the hexes and spells are still "out there" - just not for sale on E-bay - so the discussions will continue no doubt.

Darn it. I was going to sell my magic weather rock. Its really awesome. It tells the weather...... No really it does. You see you leave it out on your door step. If  it's darker color it's cloudy, if its wet it's raining, if it's got ice on it it's freeking cold. It actually works.

Coincidentally, I was looking at halloween candles on Ebay last night and they had wax poppets for sale.  Last time I saw a wax poppet was in the Witchcraft museum in Cornwall.
