Doom Posted May 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2006 War is build into our human nature. To have an edge in a conflict we have developed or evolved technology. The new technology or evolved technology may prove to be useful to normal people after a war. Like rockets used as weapons in WW2 and now we also use them to go to space. Do you agree? Note: I would rather peace than war, but in a paradox it will encourage new technology, which can have it's benifits.
Waspie_Dwarf Posted May 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2006 Eating meat is programmed into human nature but that doesn't stop people chosing to become vegetarian. War is not an inevitabillity. Huge amounts of progress are made by military research simply because military research gets such a vast budget. If just a fraction of the USA's military budget could be spent on cancer research we would be a lot closer to a cure. War is not neccesary for human advancement. Many of the advances made by military research are classified and therefore do not reach the common man.
