BurnSide Posted November 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 26, 2004 I can make better music by 'mashing' my shoe against the side of my head. Far more enjoyable too.
_hAiLO_ Posted November 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 26, 2004 Woo!! Linken Park can rap...I didn't know that... They make a good combination . I just happen to like both rap and rock...
freaky6 Posted November 27, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I'm not that crazy about this "mash-up" because it's just like Re-animation, no new songs!
TheCrow Posted November 28, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 28, 2004 (edited) Not impressed to be honest, I don't think it's a good combination. Maybe it's cos I'm not really a fan of rap/hip hop... Maybe if they had got together with someone like DMX who has a deeper, more 'rockier' voice and who typically does louder, rockier stuff in the first place it might have worked out better. And if they collaberate with Sean Paul or 50 Cent I will shoot the person behind it. I can't stand those two talentless, wastes of music contracts... saRa Posted November 29, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted November 29, 2004 I'm not that crazy about this "mash-up" because it's just like Re-animation, no new songs! 374151[/snapback] I agree with you. On their Reanimation CD, they just did remixes of the Hybrid Theory and that's almost like cheating on making new songs. When I heard an interview, Mike Shinoda(Linkin Park) said that this mash up was back in July, but was just for 'Underground' showings. I also heard that Jay-Z comes into the studio and makes up raps in his head without writing them down. In Linkin Park, Mike says that "It's hard for all of us to be interested in one person, but when it came down to Jay-Z, all of us liked the thought". brittish_gurl Posted November 29, 2004 #11 Share Posted November 29, 2004 I think it has an interesting beat, but the two bands don't really go along great together. I mean Linkin park and Jay-Z.... kind of creepy if you ask me. I don't even think their personalities and lifestyles even go together, just another thing for publicity really. saRa Posted November 29, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted November 29, 2004 (edited) Actually, it's not really for publicity. Mike grew up listening to rap and hip hop, that's why it's in every CD that Linkin Park will put out for the public eye. I guess he just wanted some of his past in with the Collision Course (coming out Nov.30) and all of the songs that he has done. It's just mostly that Mike really wanted a "Hip hop super star" in with all of this since now he can get some on like Jay. Just like in my post before, Jay-Z was the only one that all of Linkin Park agreed on. If you want or need more information about this mash-up with Jay-Z and Linkin Park, go ahead and PM me. I'll try my best to answer any questions. Edited November 29, 2004 by saRa
AztecInca Posted November 30, 2004 #13 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Just linkin park by themselves is good enough for me. With JAY-Z it was ok but nothing special!
