Visit from my deceased uncle?

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum but needed to join because of the dream I had the other night. In my dream, I was walking down a street where my grandmother (who is still alive) used to live. As I was walking by her old house, all of a sudden my grandmother walked out with my uncle (my grandmother's son). My uncle passed away seven years ago. He looked like what he would look like if he were stil alive today...a little bit older than what he looked like seven years ago, but looked good. I talked with him for a little while in my dream, but cannot remember what I talked with him about.

The next morning I told my mom about my dream. She told me that yesterday (the same night I had my dream) would have been my uncle's birthday. I thought that this was very strange, and too much to be simply a coincidence. I had not thought about my uncle for a long time, and did not know that it was his birthday.

I'm not too sure if these type of dreams are common or not, but I was wondering if I could get some feedback about it. Does anyone know if this is a sign? Is my uncle trying to contact me? Or is it just a coincidence?

Thanks!!!

Welcome to UM!

While it's hard to say with any real certainty, I have always heard that dreams like this are the deceased contacting you in a non threatening way (ie... in a way that won't startle or make you pee) and having a little visit. I have found that when I have dreams like this, that they are somehow more vivid than regular dreams. Whether they are real visitations or not, the good thing about them is that they are positive and can bring a person comfort. I don't think that I ever remember the conversations in those either, except for the one where my grandfather wished me "Happy birthday".

I had a similar dream one night....On the street where MY grandmother (deceased) used to live , i flew in over the rooftops and my brother (who died about a year beforehand) was walking down the footpath.I kinda flew in above and behind him He looked round and up at me and sad "Hey WTF are you doing here" and started laughing.

He looked fit and healthy and like you we talked but i couldn't remember about what.

I dont know if it's a subconscious need for contact or whether it was an actual visit....but it was good anyway.

I just found this website tonight. I had THE most disturbing dream I have ever had last night. I always dream a lot and have had many dreams about deceased relatives and friends. The most recent one was last night about a girlfriend named Bridget that died in a car accident about one month ago. The dream was just horrible - my husband died and then my sister and an old friend of mine from high school named Keith, were riding a motorcycle together and died. Bridget then came in my dream looking about twenty years younger and gorgeous and smiling (as she always did in real life) and took my sister and Keith to heaven. It was such a vivid dream. It was very sad about my sister and Keith dying and yet I was so happy to see Bridget in my dream looking so beautiful and happy. In real life, I have felt her presence very intensely - on the night of her wake where I had that paralysis that I have seen discussed on this website (but I was laying in bed AWAKE, not asleep) and the other day in the car when I was listening to a Melissa Etheridge song from her album "Awakening" called "Loved You Before".

I have also had dreams of my grandmother's coming to me in my dreams (both have passed on). In my dreams they have seemed to be making contact with me. And the more I looked into dreaming about deceased loved ones, I believe that they are simply stopping by to say hi. For example; my granmother who passed away 2 months ago. I never got to say good-bye to her, she passed before I could get to see her. In my dream she had called me and she was crying, but managed to say that she loved me. Granted I was mad at her for leaving me, as I was in waking life, I understood that it was her time, and that she was hurting. But I knew that she was contacting me, to tell me good-bye and that she loved me before she went onto where ever she was heading.

So personally, I believe that your uncle was simply stopping by maybe to check on your family; mom, yourself, and grandma. Saying hi and telling you that he was alright.

My other grandma has popped into my dreams, as well as my mothers.
