Growing flame

Abominable Snowman

Recommended Posts

So glad I found a forum which I can post this in as I was unsuccessful in the last forum. It has stuck with me for a long time as I don't understand it. Anyway here it goes!

I was at an Indian restaurant getting curry with my parents. I was around 9 at the time. We were seated at a table waiting to be served and as my parents chatted , I planted my head in my hands and became fixated on a lit candle inside a large wine glass which was on our table. I was sitting across the way from my parents. I was so attracted to the flame, I found it beautiful to look at all the colours. I saw nothing but the flame and as I stared at it, it rose higher into the air, over the brim of the glass, up, up when it was a foot from the rim. My dad was shouting at me to stop which broke my concentration and with that, the flame died down into the small flicker it once was. My parents were staring at me and looked angry. I was so confused at what I was supposed to of done wrong, I was merely looking at it? But as I didn't like being told off, I tried to turn my gaze away from the glass-which was hard when it was a centerpiece!

I couldn't keep my attention away from it too long and remember being warned once again by my parents to stop looking at it as it was rising again, and my dad asked the waiter to take it away! I was so upset about being told off as I hadn't done anything.

I don't know if this is Telekinesis or what as I haven't experienced anything like this after. I am also wanting to know did my parents know something I didn't? Hence them telling me off?

It sounds a lot like Telekinesis to me. Not only that but your parents seem to know that you have these skills.

Have you asked your parents about it (if they're still available)?

You could also try it again, now...though I recommend you have someone else present, as a kind of "spotter," to shake you or put out flames as needed....

Did your father specifically say "stop it youre making the flame grow" or something to that effect?

Or did he just say to stop what you were doing?

Most likely you "listened to your parents" and put those inclinations out of your mind.

Your parents would know that any skills like this would attract undesirable attention. Better for you to suppress any ability that would incline others to harm you. We do live in a fear based culture where the unknown and the unknowable are terrifying. Parents always want to protect their children and keep them safe.

No, I have never brought it up as afraid of what they would say to be honest! Hmm I might try it with someone, thank you for your suggestion, Avallaine.

Dad roared to stop and when I looked at it again, mam hushed me firmly, 'Stop, enough now'. As far as I recall. I remember them making a big deal about it anyway.

I agree with you there. It just seems so out of character for them to know about these kind of things. They don't believe in ghosts or anything supernatural. They are very straight minded people if you know what I mean.
