Still Waters Posted December 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2014 The trade in tigers and other wild cat parts from Myanmar into China has grown in recent years, a new study based on two decades of survey data suggests. It reports a surge mainly in Mong La, a Burmese town bordering China, where shops selling such products have more than trebled in the past eight years. Tiger parts were found in 80 percent of the surveys, the study says, representing at least 200 tigers. The most common parts were from clouded leopards, numbering some 480 animals. http://www.bbc.co.uk...onment-30556409
Ozfactor Posted December 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2014 You would think in this 'modern' age of information , the trade in big cat body parts would be decreasing , not increasing . The younger generation must be continuing the tradition and I find that incredibly sad and a hopeless situation with only one ending , extinction .
