I used to think, "when you're dead you're dead", but as I was walking to my car a few days after my mother died I suddenly had this overwhelming feeling of love come over me. It was so powerful I had to stop walking and just stand there for a moment. I felt weakened by it. I knew it was my mother saying goodbye. It was a total experience of pure love that I have no words to describe.

Was it merely psychological? I don't think so because it didn't seem to come from within me, it trully seemed to enter my being from outside of myself, then withdraw. I was not thinking about her at that moment and it was totally unexpected and sponteneous.

So now I think there's something after death. Of course I have no emperical data, but that experience changed my outlook on death completely.

I would like to think there was something after death but as yet I'm not convinced there is. I envy you for what you experienced, that special moment you can keep with you for the rest of your life  :)
