The changing demographics

Many people are asking how can Obama have won a second term after his performance in the last 4 years? He says that he needs 4 more years to finish what he started. Doesn’t that set off red flags? Yeah, he’ll finish it alright. Most of the time, I put my trust in the people but sometimes they are just wrong. The charisma of this Pied Piper is just too enchanting. But the reason that seems to resonate right now is that the Republican Party just turns off the minorities. They equate the Republican Party as old white men and they turn away from that. In a way that is understandable, but don’t turn away from the principles that established this nation. Just because old white men created it and held it dear doesn’t mean that minorities can’t either. Freedom is color blind. America is the Constitution, not old white men. The melting pot or Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations is what this nation is all about. But most minorities (immigrants) come from other countries that marginalized them and were more than likely Socialist to begin with. And when they get here, in turn, vote Socialist because they are now showered with Entitlements. They don’t understand where Entitlements comes from. That just doesn’t make any sense. These people are just too new to really understand what it is that they come here for. They’ve never known freedom and when they get here are sold back into slavery.

I heard a compromise that Rush Limbaugh proposed that would make things a bit interesting. He is willing to accept Amnesty for all illegals provided they cannot vote for 25 years. We would see how hard the Socialists go to recruit this group then? This would give the immigrant enough time to be absorbed and acclimate to American society. To learn what it is to be American. To learn our history and what the Constitution is. It’s not about getting stuff from the government but protecting ideals that set this nation above all others. I would expand this to all those that get a government check in the form of Entitlements or welfare. As long as you are on the dole, you cannot vote. Being on the dole and voting is really a conflict of interest. So you shouldn’t be voting anyway at least until you are off the dole.

The Founding Fathers were also a couple of other things besides, old white and male. They were fervently anti Monarchy, Oligarchy, Socialist, or anything else you want to call it. And they were entrepreneurs. Our Founding Fathers intended that everyone be self sufficient to concern themselves with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This is not an old white guy thing. Or is that what the Socialists are saying that only old white guys can be self sufficient and that all others need to be nannied? The bottom line is that we are all Americans and anything that goes against the Constitution (not old white guys) should be thrown out.

I guess I'll just repost my posting from another thread in respons.

I would like to introduce you all to George Prescott Garcia Bush, granson of President George Herbert Walker Bush and nephew of President George Walker Bush.

His mother is a native of Mexico giving him dual US/Mexico citizenship. I have no doubt that one day he will run as the rebublican presidential candidate and will win the latino vote the way Obama has won the black vote.

All hail King George the 3rd president and el Presidente of the united North America!

This much is certain, the GOP's policies, aimed at old-angry-white-males, have no future... in fact it hardly has a present. It is just that the GOP has not noticed that yet.

I'm sure people would appreciate after a lifetime of voting (as citizens born here and not immigrated here), that suddenly they can no longer vote. Social Security is one of those entitlements and I doubt any elderly would enjoy being told that once they start accepting Social Security that they can no longer vote. :tu:

I posted this in another thread but I think it is just as relevant in this one:

Someone recently said: ‘Republicans have the same problem as the Beach Boys. Their fans are dying.’

But doing some kind of panic, obvious, transparent, shullbit, 180 -like Sean Hannity did two days after the election when the demographic statistic was in- on an issue that the conservatives has been pounding on forever, is just so idiotic and obvious that one cant even laugh at it.

I'm amazed that he could keep a straight face, or tone.....or scratch that, nothing that guy says or do amazes me.

He is such a tool, but I think we will see a lot of these kind of 180´s in the near future. We are in for a joyride in comedy soon.

The next GOP nominee might be a white Latino/African American in-vitro, who is a cross-dressing in a manly but yet female way, anti drug but pot-smoking, gun-toting peace lover, atheistic-evangelical Muslim Sikh Buddhist, bi-metro-sexual cowboy who tries to pander to everyone and everything just to get ahead.

Fox News host Sean Hannity said on Thursday that he's "evolved" on the issue of immigration. ...

The conservative commentator said given the support President Obama received from Hispanic and female voters in Tuesday's election, the GOP needs to evaluate its priorities and message. ...

Hannity has long opposed immigration reform proposals that would provide a pathway to residency for those who have entered the country illegally, deriding it as "amnesty." But in his post-election comments, he suggested the GOP had to move on the issue to keep from losing the fastest-growing bloc in the country.

Evolved???...really??....does he even believe in evolution?

I think the dems have a plan now. In 2016 you'll probably see them nominate a black woman for president and a hispanic for VP. That should get them all the votes they'll need.

Well, maybe they need to start considering the possibility? I am quickly approaching that mark myself and I would be willing to give up my vote because I am on the dole. I would love nothing more than to get out of SS and invest that money the way I want to, but I am entrapped. I am a slave to the government. I do not wish to be but what recourse do I have? I would rather keep my right to vote rather than my dole!

O-boooo-hooo-hooo. And if that suggestion you just made was put forth by the democrats your head would explode. Completely disingenuous on your part.

Ya, I'm NEVER willing to give up my right to vote as long as I'm a law-abiding citizen. I'm going to guess most people will side with me on this one.

Basically, as long as the main source of irredentist tendencies will continue to develop economically, there is no problem with the so called changing demographics.

The difference between, say, French or Polish or Brazilian immigrants to the States, and Mexican\South American Spanish speaking immigrants, is that Poland, France and Brazil (or Portugal) are thousands of miles away. So any immigrant from those countries will likely become totally Americanized in two-three generations. However, Mexicans immigrating to bordering states within the US, have no real motivation to let go of their ethnic root. Spanish is as useful in California, New Mexico and Texas almost as English. In some places, even more so. Also, that flow of immigration isn't going to stop, unless Mexico becomes as rich and successful as the US. This is the only thing that's going to make it stop. The other story is quite clear - when Hispanic people in the 8 those states become the vast majority, they will want to ease immigration laws from Mexico (o fcourse they will not allow illegal immigration), and equate the US-Mexican border to US-Canadian border. That will cause much rejection by many other states, making the country divided. Eventually, one governor will claim it's racist not to ease immigration with Mexico, and will take initiative and ease the border in it's own state. That will probably cause the Federal government to invade, which will probably make other, pro-immigration states join that State and the other, anti-immigration majority states to group together and will throw the US into a civil war, with the potential of Mexican involvement.

Well, the Socialist wouldn’t put forth that suggestion. On the contrary, it is the most honest thing I’ve said. If I believe in America. If I believe in the Constitution. If I’m true to my convictions, I’ll be very willing to give up any government promise for whatever (SS, etc) and keep my vote. But if someone wants their dole, then it is a conflict of interest and they should not vote. This is along the lines of Robert Heinlein’s concept of Citizen and Civilian. The Citizen takes responsibility for protecting the body politic and the Civilian does not. If you are on the dole, you do not take responsibility. You’ve conceded it to the government.

Ya, I'm NEVER willing to give up my right to vote as long as I'm a law-abiding citizen. I'm going to guess most people will side with me on this one.

There you go. So maybe they need to give up their dole and demand that their money (with interest) be returned so that they can invest it better. The government can’t do that for everyone so we remain enslaved.

He would have to give up his dual citizenship. If you are part of the government or hold a clearance, you can’t hold dual citizenship.

Wrong, that applies only to certain federal employees, elected officials can have as many citizenships as they see fit. i.e Michelle Bachmann, both US and Swiss, though because of the political backlash she gave up the Swiss citizenship again.

Nonsense... as someone who works in Defense and Aerospace I hold several Levels of US Clearance yet am a National (Citizen) of the UK.

The US and UK work closely together and share certain clearances, so the UK is one unique exception. Your clearance and or NTK probably supersedes citizenship requirements. Not all Brits could hold the clearances you do and have dual citizenship. I suspect that between you, me, and questionmark, we all are correct. At least you and I are going off experience??

wrong again, when I was working for the Air Force in Germany we had at least a dozen LNs with very high security clearances doing jobs that they would not allow many US citizens. There is only one or two organizations where non-US citizenship or double citizenship matters for a clearance.

When I was in boot camp, we had the son of a Turkish ambassador. But I knew that I couldn’t have dual citizenship. The Presidency is one of those organizations. And another is DOE. We had a guy that had dual citizenship with Canada. He had to leave when he didn’t want to give up his Canadian citizenship. And I’m pretty sure that the Persian and the Chinese that we have are all naturalized with no dual citizenship. Because again, I can’t have dual citizenship. Like I was implying, we are all probably right but it depends on where we are at.

Social Security is one of those entitlements

SS is NOT an "entitlement". I pay real money into it for decades.
