I wanted to register a star for my nieces 5th birthday.  I thought it would be a cool gift for her to cherish for years but I have my doubts now.  Are these registries certified?  Are the official?  Are the a hoax?  Any details will help.

Any info will help.

  • We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

These star registries are in no way official. Only the International Astronomical Union (IAU) have the authority to name astronomical objects.
