I think it represents many theories about Aliens .. dont just dismiss it as just another sci-fi movie, think more of it as an extreme- over the top, way of conveying their existence and thus to make us be pre-consciously prepared for their arrival (if they do come).. I think the way the machines come out of the ground for example represents the thories for underground Alien Bases whoch I strongly support! Well, why do we shoot tranquilizer darts into wildlife, perform tests, then strap a ridiculous tracking collar on them and send them on their way? If aliens exist, we are simple animals to them. They're curious, and just want to know more about us. Some they implant tracking devices in to do routine check-ups on. We don't REALLY know whether or not people are really getting abducted, and there is very good evidence stiring things up on both sides of the debate, both physical and psychological. The thing is, it could be multiple races and all of the above theories... scientific exploration... Hybrid Projects...hostility. Or it could be nothing at all. We don't know. We can say that we know, but we would only be fooling ourselves. Theories is all that we have to live off of, and we need to support all of them at once. Unfortunately, in a case like this you cannot devote yourself entirely to one theory... reason being you could really screw things up if you turn out to be wrong.
