Zooropa Posted July 9, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2005 I'm sure this question has been asked about a million times, but; why is it that we haven't gone back to the moon since Apollo 17? Since 1972, not one trip has been made in pursuit of settling it. People have claimed that "aliens" warned the astronauts not to come back. A mining operation is taking place on the other side of the moon, the part we can't see. It serves as a docking station for "motherships" or ufo's etc....I'd like to get down and dirty about this topic. I've been looking into it for quite awhile, and I've only seen one UFO in my life. Around 5:00 a.m. in the morning, I just got back from running, I decided to sit in my patio, by the way, I live in Houston, "Space City". I was trying to catch my breath, since the humidity in Houston is Hell, it was still dark, and I looked up at the stars, and I saw a proceeding light, thinking it was a commercial jet airliner, and I kept looking at it, but I didn't hear that rough turbine engine noise they usually make, and thinking about the nocturnal flight projections it seemed odd and misplaced. The light silently proceeded south, towards the Gulf Coast. I noticed it got dim, dimmer, and vanished....in a matter of 3 seconds of noticing it. I was like, wait a minute. I felt as if it knew I looking at it. I'm still very skeptical about it. Express your thoughts and opinions about the Moon, astronauts, and UFO's. There simply hasn't been a need to send another manned mission. Bearing in mind too that one of the main reasons for the initial missions was to ge there before the Russkies....... I agree with the earlier posters, cost is the main reason, why spend huge sums of money sending people there when sending unmanned probes is cheaper and in most cases just as if not more efficient. I'd agree with a return to the Moon being cost prohibitive..While the Government may spend enormous amounts of money they do it for causes they deem necessary for it's expense. Space exploration is; and probably always will be; pretty much considered a hobby by today's powers that be.. The simple answer is: because we wimped out. The cost is an insignificant part of the budget. NASA has a lot more than other government programs with a lot less money. If I wanted to I could no doubt paint a halfway convincing picture that the Chinese were responsible, or the Reptile men of Antares.. You simply brushed it aside, merely attentive to it. Why are we being lied to? If the government isn't doing it, then why are they letting the media do it? I suppose you people would rather let it just settle into history, than to prove it to be true? To teach your sons and daughters false presumptions about what really did happen? Maybe the truth does hurt, that's why you protect it soo well and deny it's existence.
