Once again the 1,000 mile sled dog race has begun. Once again dogs will die unnecessarily because some people think that's what they were born to do. Oh yeah, "The winner will get a new truck and $50,400.". Shame!

"“Whenever people say, 'We mustn't be sentimental,' you can take it they are about to do something cruel. And if they add, 'We must be realistic,' they mean they are going to make money out of it.”

Reminds me of the 'Grand National' horse race here in the UK. Horses die every year just for the thrill and money

And the horses get neither the thrill or the money.

I must not fear. Fear is the Mind-Killer. It is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and to move through me. And when it is gone I will turn the inner eye to see it's path.
When the fear is gone, there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
