Some of these videos have been proven to be fakes, and of course some or all of the rest could simply be trolling or noises that are simply unidentified. 2. Sounds that come from the ground would be either vibrations thru your feet or earthquakes, so it is hardly surprising that sound usually comes, apparently, from the sky.. 3. All sorts of things affect how sound travels, and distant sounds can sometimes travel huge distances due to inversion layers, winds... 4. Lots of different things (from seismic movements, the ocean, construction projects, aircraft, freight trains, small/large animals, etc, etc) make weird noises. and of course: 5. Seriously, how easy would this be to investigate? A $25 directional mike and a willingness to actually get off their behinds and find the source would be easy. Do you see any signs whatsoever of any serious attempt to investigate the sounds in those videos? Righto then.. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You will find the sound from "War of the Worlds" are in some of those vids, and the vids are from after the Tom Cruise movie. The first vid sounds like wind blowing over the mouthpiece of a bottle, but it does sound like freight trains shuffling cargo trains in the distance. The second video sounds like a mash up of fakery. Search "ghost booms", or "phantom booms", because I am not saying there are not real cases out there, but people misidentify, or play tricks.
