NASA: There is No Asteroid Threatening Earth

Numerous recent blogs and web postings are erroneously claiming that an asteroid will impact Earth, sometime between Sept. 15 and 28, 2015. On one of those dates, as rumors go, there will be an impact -- "evidently" near Puerto Rico -- causing wanton destruction to the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of the United States and Mexico, as well as Central and South America.

That's the rumor that has gone viral -- now here are the facts.

"There is no scientific basis -- not one shred of evidence -- that an asteroid or any other celestial object will impact Earth on those dates," said Paul Chodas, manager of NASA's Near-Earth Object office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

I`m in doubt actually about the question which CT community is most stupid one, the chemtrailers or the "impacters".

First point is, if there would be a confirmed dangerous NEO that would impact Earth with a high likelihood I`m sure this

object would not be published on JPLs NEO page to avoid panic, but this information would be given to the governments

involved to be able to take the needed actions. So where do the impacters generate their informations from other than

from coffee grounds? I really dont know but anyway, its dispensable.

And as for the "expected" SEP2015 impact I think this was originated from a NASA report about the 2015 IAA Planetary

Defense Conference that has been held in April this year in Italy. One point on the meeting schedule was a hypothetical

asteroid impact scenario with a hypothetical impact in SEP2022. The exercise report starts with the following information:

I was under the impression that due to many recent near misses with very little warning they had decided that they dont always see them coming. Sounds odd that they're suddenly so aware of everything albeit just to dispel conspiracy rumors

They don't always see the small ones coming. The small ones can'take cause the kind of damage this moronic conspiracy theory is talking about.

The large ones are (unsurprisingly) much easier to see and consequently well mapped. Since they are well mapped NASA can be pretty sure that there is no major impact of the kind claimed likely in the next century.

What is odd is that someone can make a post as illogical as yours.

You make a statement that NASA can't see all asteroids.

You then make a statement that NASA are covering up.

If you had actually thought about what you were posting you might have realised that if your first statement is true then the conspiracy theorists also couldn't know about an impending impact. If they can't know about it then there can't possibly be a conspiracy for NASA to cover up.

The "needed" action would be that all of the politicians and their cronies would be in a bunker on the opposite side of the Earth from where the strike would be. They we all be at some type of "summit" discussion World Peace.

The idea of the governments and NASA covering up an impending asteroid impact is a joke. Do the people who make these claims realise NASA are not the only people in the world with access to a telescope? Im pretty sure all the other thousands of astronomers across the globe albeit professional or amateur would spot an asteroid of that size coming and it would very quickly become posted online everywhere. And when did '4 blood moons' = asteroid attack come to surface?? must have missed that in maths class

What are you talking about i didnt say nasa was covereing anything up. I am just pointing out that its a change from other comments ive heard from them about recent asteroids that were a near miss and weren't spotted until they were close.
