It was an allegory that existed only in Plato's mind. Edit: Working backwards; yeah, the Egyptians built the darn pyramids, how do you proove bigfoot doesn't exist? and as far as aliens go... the Universe is really a big, big place, mind boggling big. So who are we to sit here and say 'they' cannot exist? Whether or not we've been visited?, that's a different question. In the OP, the "aliens" and Bigfoot" could possibly be referred to as a modern myth, I suppose, but it's a stretch IMO. There exist no myths in any culture that involve the pyramids not being built by Egyptians and no mythos whatsoever includes anything even similar to the Atlantis allegorical fiction. There are, however, lies and ignorant interpretations that exist concerning all four topics. And that's how you "...develop the intent of the OP." It's still rather vague. Sorry about the gender thing. For some reason I always thought of you as a male (probably only because I'm a male). I wish everyone used the gender setting in their avatar.
