According to an article by - amongst others - the BBC, Egypt may be taking Ethiopia to the international court over Ethiopia's construction of a dam on the Nile.

For decades now, various pundits have suggested that Water will become a major source of tension in the developing world. Could these dire predictions be coming true ?

If a serious decline in the flow results from what Ethiopia is doing then Egypt would have no choice. A cheaper and hopefully more environmentally friendly form of mass desalination is what the world requires.

This has been going on for decades, although I would be amused at seeing what potential "military action" Egypt would do, given that a rather large country (Sudan) sits in between Egypt and Ethiopia.
