In your minds eye what do you see when think of your God. Do you see an old grey bearded man, a women, the Universe? What do you see?

Well....in one word...i would have to say the 'universe' , and all that is within and without. I certainly don't see him/her/it as a bearded old man/being

As this thread is rapidly descending into a flaming war I am going to try something different. I am going to delete the few flames and see if things cool down to an interesting civil discussion.

Maybe I watched too much Star Trek in my youth but I envision God as a bright life force (Energy) able to take on any form He chooses to communicate. A king, flaming bush, or something as simple as a dove as well as a man (Jesus) as an example. I believe that His image that we are created in is not a physical image but in His creative abilities, reflected in our art and music. In the choice to create or destroy to love or to hate.

Thinks Irish, I am sorry, I am a grumpy old Druid today I didn't mean to snap.

That is kind of how I see Gods, too. They come in many forms. Sometimes a wolf or a snake or just a light.

The image of God changes in mind's eye, depending on when I need him. When I need a friend, he is my age and a friend, when i need a counselor he is old and wise. When I need to vent he is like a boxing trainer, when I need love he is like a loving Father.

Given that I believe gods are man conceived.. every single one of them. I worship those I chose to believe in as aspects of myself.

No I am not saying I wirship myself... I'm saying that for whatever I need.. there is a goddess or a god. However, ultametly... I the divine Goddess.. mother earth.. Mother of all.. she is above all overs to me.

In my mind God has no form and is not 'connected' in any way with our universe. God for me is just a place with a sense of being. I know that doesn't make sense but I haven't really thought about this much and am struggling to find words to describe what I believe.

That blackness in the space could represent God to me. Big, cold, everlasting, incomprehensible, wonderful.

But this is just a thought, I dont actually see him/her like that

I see god all around me.

He is the tree's, the wind, the mounatians, the clouds, all things at the same time, but also a single being, He/She, both at the same time, beyond the duality, happines, sadness, love, hope and fear, death, life, intensity, He is the consiousness of the universe, aware of himself, and free.

And he is asking us to break free and join him in the balance that he made.

To me god is not some person as we know him far away somewhere tending to his work, if you define a person as awareness then he is, he is all around us everyday tending to all the things that are going on, If you can envision the force that holds together energy as is the universe then you will see he is there, just like we are the force holding together our energy.

Strange as it may seem, the preponderence of evidence suggests that the God of the Bible may be a fire breathing dragon. Seriously.

The Sumerian prototype of the Hebrew God was a dragon, as were his attendants.

Several verses in the Bible describe God with smoke fuming from his nostrils and fire from his mouth, consuming his enemies. Just like the most powerful creature on Earth, according to the Bible, the scaly, reptilian, fire spewing Leviathan, also consdered a dragon of some type..

The highest attendents of God who stand in his direct presence are called Seraphim, which in Hebrew means "fiery flying serpents". In other verses they are simply called "dragons"

Satan is never described as a humanlike angel. The only description is that he is a serpent or dragon. In Job he is called a "Son of God". Like father like son?

Jesus referred to Satan as the "Prince of this World". Wouldn't the "dragon king" father of heaven, make his "dragon son" prince of this world? But with humans having a fear of dragons, he also brought a human son into the world we know as Jesus.

Jesus said the image of the Seraphim dragon was the sign of his reserection/immortality.

The Persians state in their scriptures that the God of the Bible is a huge dragon named Zohac, and he will destory a third of the world population on judgement day. The Christian Book of Revelation also states dragon-like fire spewing creatures will destroy exactly the same number of the world population - one third.

Dragons are gods in cultures all over the world. Why would the Judao Christian religion be any different, particulalrry since all the facts point to this? Why would virtually every culture around the world believe the same thing if it didn't have a kernel of truth?

Go figure.

Is that how you visualize God as a Dragon, Draconic? That would be cool.

No, but this is what the archaeological and scriptural evidence suggests. In truth, and if God must have existed long before any biological creature and therefore could not look like a wizened old man or a dragon, and two OT verses describe him riding on the back of a dragon. But the Bible is very clear about His highest servants being "dragons" and it would be easy to see that anyone who saw these terrifying creatures engaged in acts of heavenly retribution might think on of them as "God Himself".
