Occult1 Posted August 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) Privacy is non-existent on Facebook. It's not meant to be either. The best you can do is to 'shield' your account from appearing in the search engine and hide your friends list but that's about it. Everything you write, you like and click on is recorded on their servers and can be subjected to review by the authorities. There's also the fact that the business model of Facebook is built around advertising. Data mining and profiling is a way to serve tailored ads to users. Their creepy location tracking doesn't really surprise me. It has been known for years that smartphones are not exactly private. Compagnies can track your locations in many different ways and know quite a lot about your whereabouts.
