Calle Posted April 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2013 Well this century will be the Golden age of Science 1800-1899: We mastered the Electricity 1900-1999: We became World Social -> Internet, Computers, Phones <- and we are here now, Whats your Expectation for this century? Nano-Tech -> Medical Reserch Complete Controllable Matter -> Nano-tech will Construct Objects by Matter ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Advanced Cybernetics & Robotics

SHaYap Posted April 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2013 (edited) Hopefully a cure for cancer and I hope third_eye isn't right. YOu me both ... the chart is reversible ... A high percentage of cancer IS curable nowadays, early detection is the key. As long as it isn't a malignant tumor chances of survival is very much higher nowadays, best example would be Lance Armstrong, he survived and went on to used his second chance at life to cheat and lie to the world, he made his own hell on earth. on the other hand here we have .... Lab-grown kidney works in rats after transplant LONDON: A kidney grown in a lab has been successfully transplanted following which it started to produce urine. Scientists from Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) bioengineered rat kidneys which later successfully produced urine both in a laboratory apparatus and after being transplanted into living animals. and most importantly ... "If this technology can be scaled to human-sized grafts, patients suffering from renal failure who are currently waiting for donor kidneys or who are not transplant candidates could theoretically receive new organs derived from their own cells." http://timesofindia....ow/19572241.cms Now isn't that nice to know ? Rats are such nice mammals ~edit: oversight Edited April 16, 2013 by third_eye
Emma_Acid Posted April 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2013 I think we're at the brink of a major change in science, just as the great experimentalists of the late 18th century gave birth to the 20th century with their theories of electricity. In the same way, we don't understand quantum physics, but can you imagine how the world will change when we do? No disrespect to Zerocoder, but we can't really predict this sort of thing.
