Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system, has made some dramatic transformations in recent years, a new study reveals.

Huge belts in the giant planet's atmosphere have changed color, radiation hotspots have faded and flared up again, and cloud levels have thickened and dissolved, all while space rocks have been hurtling into it the gas giant, astronomers said.

It's been 18 years since a huge amount of energy was absorbed into the planet from Shoemaker-Levy 9.  I wonder if that had any effect on this process being observed.

Since we haven't been observing Jupiter for that long with modern equipment this could be normal.

The sun is also just hot gas, or plasma if you like.

Some say Jupiter is a 'failed star', meaning: not enough helium and/or hydrogen to start nuclear fusion and ignite like a cosmic Christmas tree.

In fact, it isn't even close to being a 'brown star'.

I can't quite remember where I first saw it, I think it may have been something on you-tube.. But there's plenty of articals out in Google-world regarding interplanetary global warming occuring from Pluto to earth..

I didn't think our use of greehouse gasses effected pluto?
But there you go.. interweb google fed scientists the lot of us.. lol.
personally I blame them on Titan.. All that fart gas cant be good for the solarsystem.

And I know now, lol.  But although I think I do quite well using the English language, I sometimes miss out on its subtleties.

Lol, it's "all just hot air!", isn't it.

Anyway, I remember from maybe 20 years ago that there was some 'clairvoyant' English (?) nun who claimed to have 'seen' that Jupiter would some day grow and grow,and then ignite and become a new sun in our solar system.

Some people should just never be allowed to watch scifi movies or read scifi books.

Thanks for the links.

So in essence everybody agrees several planets are warming up, but they do not agree on the connecting factor, unless it's just a coincidence connected with coinciding seasons and weather patterns.
