exactly, and we'll leave the union but when the time suits us, the way things are going in europe we can take advantage of the situation.

As I've pointed out before, 87% - that's 87% - of the world's countries are OUTSIDE the EU.  Yet these countries do not suffer because they are outside the supposed brilliant, and generous, and harmonious and kindly bosom of the EU.

There's a big wide world out there and Britain should now leave this sclerotic and decaying organisation which has such a stranglehold on our economy and start concentrating on closer links with the much more economically vibrant Commonwealth and countries such as China and Brazil.

The British Government should do the right thing and give the British people the opportunity to vote in favour of withdrawing from the EU by giving us the EU in/out referendum that most of us want.  They need to give us the referendum NOW.  And they wont regret it.  Doing so will guarantee that the Conservatives win the next election in 2015 and get rid of the unpopular Europhile LibDems in the process.

Care to list those countries??

How many have no link to the USA, how many have no limk to any other Nation, How many are Banana Republics, How many are entrenched in Islamic Fundamentalism, How many have no interest in a Free Trade Union with the EU... and please do tell us all, how many are doing well..Idiot!!!

You know the point he's making - but just incase - the point lazy gun is making is you do not need to be a member of the EU. - because the overwhelming impression you get from pro-EU supporters is its literally the EU or nothing. Many countries, successful countries are not EU members mainly because of their geographic location, but they set their own trade agreements with the EU. the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Brazil, India. just to name a few have successfully negotiated trade deals with the EU, and yet none subscribe to the same conditions such as Norway or other free trade area members - so it proves the point time and again, you do not need to be a member of the political union, you dont even have to be a member of the Free trade area to access the EU, it shows you can trade with the EU be good neighbours/allies have co-operation but do not need to subscribe to the political element, EU laws, diktats or further integration.

Yeah.  I think we should quit the EU and become like Norway.  I can't see how Cameron thinks that's a problem.

Funnily enough,investors are dropping the single currency and have started drifting back to the UK Pound.UK Exports to Europe are shrinking and rising to the rest of the world.Who needs the EEC ? Norway are doing very well without the EEC,so lets jump off the Clattering Train before it comes off the rails..

A recent Opinium\Observer survey in November now puts 56% of Britons wanting out but i would bet on it being 60 plus % in reality.Cameron is facing a massive rebellion in his own party if he does not use the British Veto in future EEC budget negotiations.Truth of the matter is the EEC is a pile of steaming crap and is so corrupt so lets pull out and stop wasting UK money.

Norway has HUGE oil reserves and as such is wealthy in relative terms. Norway also has to pay a HUGE amount of money to be allowed to trade freely with the EU - you need to check on this (because Norways PM says it is not "insignificant).

By comparison... UK has dwindling Oil reserves (most of the tax generated wasted during the Thatcher Years) and the UK could probably not even afford the terms of continued free - trade.

No idea what the "EEC" is... because it does not exist, but perhaps you are just stuck in a time - warp!!

Honestly, there is no argument here, the big players in the EU, and more importantly their citizens, are tired of the UK being within the EU and would dearly love the UK to leave. You are not wanted, not needed, and slow the whole process of integrating Processes and Procedures that would ultimately lead to a more powerful, and accountable Bloc to arise.

There is nothing the EU needs from the UK, nothing at all....

That's a useless statistic.  87% of the worlds countries are outside the EU!!??  So what?  How many of those are prosperous?

The Commonwealth?  Please.....get over it.  Rule Britannia days finished with Queen Victoria and the Commonwealth is not really a common wealth because each and every country is entrenched in their own regions and trade deals which is most convenient for their economy.

China and India?  Yeah sure, everyone wants a piece of them at the moment.

Well, the EU is currently the largest Economy in the world by overall GDP and Britain is currently the third most richest out of these.

Would the EU suffer if Britain left?  Yeah sure, in the short term, but in the long run the EU would prosper while Britain's economy would stagnate and deteriorate IMHO.

Well, you do realise that transportation of goods also costs a lot of money and transporting a good from lets say Belgium to Britain is cheaper than transporting it from all the other places you mention. Taxes, tolls, distance, etc..
Surely you have that level of insight.

Listening to people will never happen because the politicians have convinced themselves that what they want is evil.

Empire, wealth, power and influence. Oh no we cant have any of that so we'll sell the nation out from under your feet to the EU instead.

my post was to highlight trade agreements by non EU countries from around the world - they have trade agreements with the EU but without being a EU member and all of the needless treaties, legislation and integration / EU laws etc... - im somewhat confused by your reply. because at no point have i said stop trading with EU countries. in fact, if you pay attention i have repeatedly stated the UK outside of the EU should trade with the EU, be good neighbours and co-operate on mutual benefits - regardless of our membership the UK will always trade with EU member countries their proximity to our shores dictate this. the question to you is, surely you have the level of insight to read my post properly.
