chemical-licker Posted November 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2007 http://www.tpuc.org/stoppayingtvlicencefees we all knew the bbc were dodgy THE EVIDENCE IS NOW PRESENTED TO SCOTLAND YARD FOR IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION! NOW THAT THE NEW INCREASE in the BBC Licence Fee has been approved by the Very Dodgy Dimwits of Westminster, it is now revealed that the BBC has been receiving tens of millions of pounds every year from the Sinister Dictators of Europe - without the knowledge of the British Public! DEPUTY ASSISTANT POLICE COMMISSIONER John Yates, Director of Intelligence at Scotland Yard has been asked to investigate the BBC’s sources and applications of money, excluding the Licence Fee, and evidence linking the BBC to the European Dictators has been provided in support of the allegation that the BBC has ‘sold-out’ to Shady Politicians. Lt_Ripley Posted November 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2007 (edited) now watching this unfold should make some damn fine viewing. Sky should turn it into a mini series when finished. Edited November 18, 2007 by Lt_Ripley

ships-cat Posted November 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 18, 2007 Hee hee - and look at the source: Ashely Mote, a member of the (currently defunct) Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty party. I TOLD you that the EU needs whistleblowers. Mind you, I think he may be foaming at the brain here. I've not come across any other sources suggesting that the BBC has received European funding. (is it possible that he is actually reffering to BBC Worldwide, the commercial 'wing' of the BBC ? That organisation is - I believe - now a private company, and certainly has no editorial influence. ) Meow Purr.

Stardrive Posted November 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2007 Sinister Dictators of Europe Sounds like a name for a band. Do they have more than 2 good songs on their CD?
Borat Posted November 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2007 Mars : The BBC is trash, its identical to Fox or CNN. Mars is absolutely correct, so too Sky news owned by Rupert Murdoch , same owner of Fox news and a multitude of other media outlets. The danger is allowing such proprietors that have no qualms regarding perpetrating their own political agenda onto their news agencies , that people reading/watching such news are under an illusion that it is unbiased news reporting and not politically motivated propoganda. Mekorig Posted November 19, 2007 #8 Share Posted November 19, 2007 Sounds like a name for a band. Do they have more than 2 good songs on their CD? Its not a bad name, specially for a anti-system punk rock band.

Mekorig Posted November 19, 2007 #10 Share Posted November 19, 2007 I found the e-newspaper to be a very good one, also very neutral on politics.

el midgetron Posted November 19, 2007 #14 Share Posted November 19, 2007 I would take the BBC over the US networks anyday. However, this same bought and paid for poop is we have in the US.
ships-cat Posted November 19, 2007 #15 Share Posted November 19, 2007 I'd say that - for a national broadcaster - the BBC tends to have better coverage of world affairs than CNN (not sure about Fox as I can't get it). CNN is very good at covering US affairs, but its idea of "world news" seems to be limited to when a prominent American is VISITING a foreign country. (or - perhaps - invading it ) However, I have noticed that the BBC domestic news seems to be sliding down the 'news as entertainment' path. I've not found any other refferences to this "European Funding" story, so I'm guessing it's a fake ? (or perhaps it refers to funding the coverage of the European Song Contest ? In which case... hang them high ) Meow Purr.
henrychalder Posted November 19, 2007 #16 Share Posted November 19, 2007 I'm sure if John Yates was onto anything here he would have had the carpet pulled from under his feet just like the 'loans for honours' investigation. If anyone was giving money to the BBC surely it would be more likely to be India as the BBC seems obsessed with India and Bollywood just as Ken Livingston is. But of late the BBC doesn't seemed to be 'BRITISH' old boy. As for telelvision news docu's, you only have to watch the film..'goodnight and goodluck', a film about Ed Murrow, where its seems that telelvision news media is always under pressure to become a stagnated institution only there for the masses. I think we have got to that stage now and the dumbing down of nations as you hint at However, I have noticed that the BBC domestic news seems to be sliding down the 'news as entertainment' path. stevewinn Posted November 19, 2007 #17 Share Posted November 19, 2007 Does anyone one watch Euro news, its on sky mixed in with all the news channels? i like Channel 4 news or ITV's news at 10:30, i hate the 24 hour news channels all rushing to get the news out before one another, Sky news or BBC news BREAKING NEWS, Bomb goes off, 2 dead 12 injured, 5 mins later 26 dead 32 injured, i'd rather they just told me the full story later when they have all the facts and the dust has settled,
