Still Waters Posted September 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2012 Swiss citizens are going to the polls to vote on a proposal to ban smoking completely in enclosed public places. Hotels, restaurants and bars are currently allowed to have rooms for smokers but critics say this harms the health of those who work in them. Restrictions introduced two years ago were watered down after lobbying from the catering trade and tobacco firms. Opinion polls show the Swiss - who smoke more than their neighbours - are likely to reject the proposal. http://www.bbc.co.uk...europe-19690450
sickpuppy Posted September 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 23, 2012 Australia introduced a similar ban on smoking in enclosed spaces some years ago, soon we are to introduce plain packaging for all cigarettes. ..do you remember not so long ago doctors would encourage smoking for health reasons? it's always in the interests of our best health, right? Things like the Bill of Rights, the Magna Carta, ..they all said people had the right to succeed or fail. to make their own decisions. more pieces of the puzzle fall into place as we see this constant inconsistent manipulation at work.
