I don't think there is anything wrong with being a vegan. Heck, it's your body, and everyone has different taste buds. I don't really like red meat. My husband does, so some nights I do have to cook it. But, we mostly stick to chicken, turkey, venison, and sometimes fish. Me and my son are BIG fruit and veggie eaters. My husband is allergic to anything that might possibly be healthy. :hmm:
Like, I said we eat ALOT of organic foods, and I grow lots of vegetables. My next plan is to start planting some fruit trees and I really want to try and grow potatoes. Potatoes are awesome. You can do ANYTHING with them!

Hey since you said you grow your own food, I have a great tip for ya. If you plant sweet potatoes through your whole garden, and then just let them rot right in the ground, its an amazing fertilizer. I had only 4, 8 foot tall tomato plants last year, and by the time I harvested, I was giving away several grocery bags full to the nieghbors.

Sounds like a commercial.

Yea after I wrote it I was thinking folks might think that. But I dont sell it, nor do I have any part in the company that makes it what so ever. Im just trully sold on it myself, and feel it would be a shame to not tell folks about it. Anyone who might doubt it, just look it up for yourselfs. Its called beyond tangy tangerine. BTW they will tell you it tastes great, that is a lie. But it is tolerable. and more then worth using.

I really don't so what your point is whatsoever. The reason I don't eat meat is because of the way it is farmed by big corporations and all the animals suffer and are tortured, on top of that the animals are fed utter garbage and given drugs... I don't want that BS in my body. In the XII century I would have hunted my own clean natural meat.

I don't eat processed food because it gives you diseases and cancer.
[...]
And you would have to preserve it either with salt in fair ammounts (heart diseases), either smoking (cancer). Put less salt, or smoke not enough, and you would be eating rotten meat.
And I find funny about your claims you are getting B12 from Spirulina... Yeah, right, supplement pharma manufacturers don't lie...

Lets see:

Quote

The effect of algae (nori and spirulina) and fermented plant foods on the hematological status of vitamin B-12-deficient children was evaluated. Although rising plasma vitamin B-12 concentrations in children consuming only plant foods (0.1-2.7 micrograms vitamin B-12/d) indicated that the vitamin B-12 was absorbed, elevated baseline values of mean corpuscular volume (MCV) further deteriorated. In contrast, MCV improved in children receiving fish containing 0.15-0.5 microgram vitamin B-12/d or a vitamin B-12 supplement. Further studies on the specificity of current vitamin B-12 assays are warranted. It seems unjustified to advocate algae and other plant foods as a safe source of vitamin B-12 because its bioavailability is questionable.

Vitamin B12

Spirulina is not considered to be a reliable source of Vitamin B12. Spirulina supplements contain predominantly pseudovitamin B12, which is biologically inactive in humans.[9] Companies which grow and market spirulina have claimed it to be a significant source of B12 on the basis of alternative, unpublished assays, although their claims are not accepted by independent scientific organizations. The American Dietetic Association and Dietitians of Canada in their position paper on vegetarian diets state that spirulina cannot be counted on as a reliable source of active vitamin B12.[10] The medical literature similarly advises that spirulina is unsuitable as a source of B12.[9][11]

I have natural Spirulina from a company who sources it from fair trade etc, not some pharmacutical supplement. I would never touch anything from a pharmaceutical company. They lie all the time and don't care about peoples health. They create customers not cure people.

I've been meatless since the start of the year. I don't know if I'll try and take it all the way to vegan-ism.

Veganism not for me, full stop. Though one day (if I can make enough money doling out stuff from those evil pharmaceutical companies ;) ) I would love to raise my own meat, eggs, and vegetables, where I know what's going into all of them.

If you where being Sarcastic about "Evil pharmaceutical companies":

The FDA helped cover this up.....

The FDA helps the food industry and Pharmaceutical industry by allowing anything they supple through and blocking others. Like Cancer cures, especially natural ones.

Did you know the Guyabano fruit cures cancer? Did you know a pharmaceutical company spent millions trying to make a synthetic version of it, so it could patent it and sell it. But thye failed to do it and then locked away all their findings not allowing anyone to know this?!

Cruciferous veggies (broccoli, cauliflower) also helps to lower and control estrogens in the body. Guys, as you get older, eat more of these, testosterone naturally drops as we age. Too much estrogen can have serious side effects on a male's equipment. It could literally mean the difference between having to take viagra, and not having to take viagra, keeping muscle mass, or watching it slowly decline.

We aren't in the US, as far as I'm concerned the FDA can do what they want.

Can I have some sources for this statement though?

Apple and Moses? Really..
No wonder I've lost faith in mankind..

By now, they probably hate their names so much that they're too depressed to eat.

I once went vegetarian for two years.. tried to go vegan once, but that only lasted half a day. Imagine how crazy it would make you. Luckily, I didn't lose my mind over going vegetarian, but at least I came back to life to chicken wings. Couldn't deny my favorite food any longer.. Humans have canine teeth for a reason.

I suppose this may be true, but cruciferous veggies also greatly lower the risk of bowel cancer and probably a dozen other ailments.  It may be the two effects are connected.I don't need sex; I do need my bowels. My muscle mass is fine.  I think the reason old people lose muscle mass is they don't use them enough.
