Leo, a Staffordshire-boxer cross, managed to turn on the electric hob - destroying the family's kitchen and nearly burning down the house. MissMelsWell Posted April 8, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2015 This is no joke. I have a friend who has a Giant Schnauzer. "George" has set his face on fire TWICE doing this. My friends have an island range, which is gas and the knobs are on the front of the range. George keeps jumping up to look over the island rather than walking his lazy butt around to see what people are up to in the family room. His chest bumps into the knobs and his big old schnauzer beard goes up in flames. My friends have had to retrofit their range so the knobs are in the counter and out of accidental dog ignition range. You may have a point there... Have the owners checked recently if they have any life insurance, and who'd benefit? Indeed, if so, was it signed by a human, or by a doggy footprint...!
