Still Waters Posted March 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2014 Parents who starve their children of love and affection face prosecution under a "Cinderella Law". The Telegraph can disclose. Changes to the child neglect laws will make "emotional cruelty" a crime for the first time, alongside physical or sexual abuse. http://www.telegraph...-face-jail.html
Lilly Posted March 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2014 If you don't love your children then put them up for adoption so that someone else can.
CatFromHell Posted March 31, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) All very well and good but when we have social workers in this country who can't even tell a child is being physically abused despite that child being covered in bruises and various other injuries, I don't hold out much hope. Also, Could go too far and end up with the parent's being prosecuted for making their child help with chores etc, Then who would do the housework? Joke. stevewinn Posted March 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2014 another law which is unenforceable, starve their children of love and affection how do you prove that, the things that spring to my mind would fall under neglect. so i cannot think of one. Crabby Kitten Posted March 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2014 It means psychological abuse towards a child, such as "witnessing domestic violence", using them as tools and treating them as objects. Children and babies that are left alone for very long periods without supervision and completely ignored is considered neglect. I don't see why people are against this idea, judging by all the complaints under the news article on that link. One minute people are saying "praise be the government" for making gay marriage legal, and the next calling them dictators for bringing in a law to help children.
