Logic Posted April 28, 2002 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2002 Actually my reason for posting this had to do with the Police Forces getting weapons platforms from the DoD for free. It's one thing when police have to buy the things, incidence of crime are higher in urban areas where taxes are high enough to pay for such items in response to mounting local crime. However giving away such equipment to police forces sets dangerous precedents in the event of a covert coup and declaration of Martial Law following it. The 2nd amendment might give one the right to keep guns, but smallarms aren't much good against armored vehicles in the face of a fascist takeover, in which police forces are nationalized. By allowing small rural police forces to become equipped with such vehicles, potential enemies of free people have secured an immediately deployed beachhead against resistence.
