SilverCougar Posted January 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2005 (edited) And I was by a few people, so I'm only obliging. Right right... already know that I'm a pagan.. so that gets one thing out of the way. However, what I think and believe in is kind of complex, yet simple. I do worship various gods.. from different religions sects. Mostly Celtic and Native American, and and Egyptian goddess. Why? Simply put... The Celtic shaman/druidism in honour of my ancestors, and the Native American ways in honour of the magics and spiritualness that is soaked into this land. Bast, well.. she is the only goddess I connected with, on the feline level. They give me the same comfort and mental aid as any god would to whoever prays to whatever god. I mostly use my magical knowledge in the ways of herbal healing, teas, spiritual guidance, dream scaping as well as meditating. I do have a spirit guide, if you need help figuring that out.. my name says it all. heh. I don't believe gods created us, and the world... I believe we created them. A needed source of guidance and understanding of the world we were growing in. Some gave the very earth herself a spirit, and she became a goddess. Commonly known as Mother Earth, or Gaia. She controls nature, and everything that happens with the earth. That's just one way of putting understanding to natural occurences. I also believe in evolution, the earth being a few billion years old and all that. Why? Honestly, you can't deny the fossil evidence found, or the geological striations found in the earth... each like a living calender of the earth's growth. It's like looking at the rings of a tree... a history book of sorts. Using knowledge, and using my beliefs, it's been easier for me to live and adapt with the world. Granted stick me in a city and I'll go nuts... If anything that's unnatural, a city's it *cringes* so loud and dirty, and reeking of humaness ;P You've also seen me say that I'm a werecougar from time to time. That's just another spiritual thing. A persona of my spirit if you will. And this is one of those, if you spent time with me in life, you'd understand. heh. And I can honestly say, the only apocalypse we'll see will be one brought down by ourselves. We do have the drive and capability to eradicate ourselves from the face of the earth... granted it won't be a pretty site... Anything else, seen in some odd prophecy or another.. well as i've said before, you get out of them what you put into them. Meaning, if you see something that happened that might just fit some prophecy.. then for you, it happened. Easier to say one has been fulfilled after the fact then while it happened, or before. Prophecies are like estimated guesses based on common knowledge on what humanity and the natural world is capable of doing. I could prophacize that there will be another earthquake sometime between now, and a year from now, where the vast ocean and land meet, as well a few miles inland... It'll happen, because it always happens. Especially if you live on an active fault line like I do. Anyways... I think that covers it, though knowing me.. there's more. ;P Edited January 18, 2005 by SilverCougar

When I lived in Wyoming I spent a lot of time reading about Native American Shamanism and this was an interesting aspect of it: totem animals. I was actually stopped by a woman who did not know me (at the time, we became friends later) who told me she saw a "great black wolf" walking closely with me. I've always loved wolves, felt an affinity with them and actually had moved out there to spend a lot of time observing them in the wild, so was surprised she said this out of nowhere. I am a giant skeptic, but this was very surprising and disconcerting.

Michelle Posted January 18, 2005 #15 Share Posted January 18, 2005 I like the way you think SilverCougar. One thing I can't figure out...why am I drawn to wolves AND wild cats? In so many cultures my sign is that of a cat, including being a Leo, but I have a strange connection to wolf type species?
SilverCougar Posted January 18, 2005 Author #16 Share Posted January 18, 2005 Could be many reasons... Maybe the Wolf feels the need to take you into her pack for guidence in your life right now. There are times when more then one spirit guide comes to aid you.

Michelle Posted January 18, 2005 #18 Share Posted January 18, 2005 (edited) I hope you didn't think I was making fun. I'm honestly interested...I have a flaw in my character that makes me look like I take everything lightly. It's not just now... I've felt both species with me most of my life. It's been a joke among my family that I could talk the birds out of the trees. I have a connection with nature that's very uncanny.
