LEGENDS

The magician's stock word "hocus pocus" is taken from the name of a mythological sorcerer, Ochus Bochus, who appears in Norse folktales and Legends.

LUCK

In parts of Japan, if a black cat crosses one's path, it is considered a sign of good Luck.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OCCULT

Nearly two thirds of the college and university teachers questioned on the subject of the Occult said they believed that the existence of extrasensory perception was an established fact or a likely possibility.

SPELLS

The magician's word "abracadabra" is actually an ancient sorcerers' Spell that historians have traced to early medieval times. The English writer Daniel Defoe related that in London during the Black Plague, amulets with the following inscription were worn to keep away the disease:

A B R A C A D A B R A

A B R A C A D A B R

A B R A C A D A B

A B R A C A D A

ESP and other abilities do exist though, all that has to happen is it has to be unlocked in someone for them to be able to do it.

Is there any evidence suggesting that it definitely is extra sensory and not a combination of other senses combined with reasoning?

There are one or two that I know of, but they are fairly old now, that and i would have to do a bit of research to get times and dates, but for something to go on, there was a Scottish clairvoyant who in the 18/19th C. Police in Scotland Yard used to track a killer, he eventually tracked him down to France where he was arrested and found guilty.
