Altheia Posted November 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2006 I know it's rather presumptuous, yet the question remains. Indulge me.
JoshB Posted November 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Well in the case of a deadly astroid, Or a nuculear war or something, If were all killed off Probly nothing unless aliens come and inhabit the earth, But if somehting like an astroid or nuke went off some of us could probaly survive and reproduce and remake a civilization

The question isn't only about "what will happen if we all die", it's in what we will evolve, the next step after Homo Sapiens. Like, eum, robo sapiens. Bone_Collector Posted November 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2006 If it goes on like this for a very long time, we will surely become physically weaker and more dependent on the machines. Our brains will evolve more.

Our brains will evolve more. physically weaker you say, but science has already got sollutions for this: the exoskeleton, drugs...(http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82544) More dependant on machines, i fullheartedly agree. Sadly enough.
The_Atheist_Mind Posted November 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2006 you realize that, in the future, the machines will have artificial intel. and will figure out that they are better and stronger so they will turn everything around only the amish will survive problem is they dont even know what we have so they dont know whats coming. now the next dominant species will be spiders i am sure because of the rate that they reproduce. the next evolutionary phase? well we dont know yet but we wont have toes cause we dont use them like we used to. used to be where the toes where like stairs | | | \ / ___ __ __ | | __ | | | | | | ROUGH SKETCH OF PREHISTORIC HUMAN FOOT. __ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ___________________ <------------- straight toes ours slant down | | | | | | | |

Bella-Angelique Posted November 27, 2006 #13 Share Posted November 27, 2006 do you think we will be like the Borg someday? just wondering Yes, but hopefully not as unattractive. If the Japanese stay at the top of robotics for centuries we may end up looking like this however.
Arthuria Posted November 27, 2006 #14 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Cyborgs - including cybernetics, robotics & complex programs that may give rise the theory of artficial intelligence - an Age that could replace what humans are; also, if humans use cybernetics to dive into the digital net & if humans learn to transfer their essence into cybernetic bodies, that could give rise to yet another variant form of life. Rahl Posted November 28, 2006 #17 Share Posted November 28, 2006 (edited) robotics doesnt seem to be keeping pace with genetics , so id say the next step up will be human cloning, but without genetic defects.. someday maybe cloning with cybernetics, but that'll be a day robotic limbs can function as easily and be as adaptable as ours .
