With just ten days to go before the Mayan apocalypse supposedly spells the end of the world, many believers may be looking for ways to dodge doomsday.

But one farmer in China believes he is ready for any eventuality after building seven emergency survival pods.

Liu Qiyuan created the fibreglass shells - dubbed Noah's Ark - after being inspired by the apocalyptic Hollywood movie 2012.

Please don't forget the other important prepper supplies: olives, cocktail weenys, bloody mary mix and spicey beans. Cheers!

I've got a 10 x 6 ft hut at the bottom of the garden, so I put a can of beans and a can of soup there, just in case.Cannot leave the Whisky there, someone might pinch it.
Seriously....are these survival guys nuts or are they sane and I'm nuts.

Whats nuts about being prepared? Its the motto of the boy scouts! Just because someone stocks extra food, flashlights, batteries, ammo, matches, water, ect. and has a generator doesn't always mean their prepping for the end of the world. A simple power outage, bad storm, hurricane (which I gone through many), flood or fuel shortage can be a serious problem if your not ready for it. If you've never experienced frantic lines or empty shelves at the grocery store or long lines at the gas station or hardware store or waiting in line for hours for emergency rations and ice and water your lucky. IMO it is a no brainer that being prepared for what ever may befall you is a wise and intelligent move. Its the people that don't take the time, money or effort to prepare that will be hurting the most and causing the most trouble when something out of the ordinary does happens. And it will, as it has time and time before. Consider "Sandy" as a recent example.

Not sure i would want to be one of the only ones left on the earth. (10-20 people)
Something tells me that the life to follow would be nothing more than a slow death.

So a metal frame coated in fiberglass is designed to "block" radiation? It's funny how people think about radiation.  That thing is not going to shield significant radiation.  It would have to be extremely thick if it were made of just metal and fiberglass.

I sort of wonder what happen with you open the door and the radittion comes in or you open the door while underwater you sink. Your going to need fresh air. 14 people can use up a lot of air quick.
