Saru Posted January 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2011 As Unexplained Mysteries enters its tenth year online one of the areas we are looking to expand upon is our main news coverage, this week several improvements to the news have been implemented including a new front page layout for the most recent news updates and the inclusion of embedded videos within some of our stories. In order to help us expand and improve upon our news coverage even further we are introducing a new volunteer staff group to the site and are now looking for forum members who are interested in becoming a part of it. The new staff group title is News Writer. The main role of Staff News Writers will be to pick out relevant, high-quality news stories from credible, reliable news sources and then to summarise and submit these to our news system for publication on our main front page news. The front page news is one of our most important and prominent features with stories being viewed by thousands of people on a daily basis, in addition to this our stories are syndicated via our news feeds, on Facebook and other sources bringing in large amounts of visitors from all over the web. As a staff news writer you will receive full credit for the stories that you write up for us and be given the opportunity to both help shape the news that we cover and to work with us to pioneer improvements and additions to the news system. Please be aware that as there is an ( albeit small ) element of writing involved we will need people with good english writing skills, we also ask that applicants maintain an active membership on the forums and that you have a genuine interest in the topics we cover. We must also ask that you do not submit or publish the news stories you write up here on other web sites.
