In an unorthodox health experiment George Prior drank 10 cans of Coke every day to see what would happen.

With warnings from doctors about the dangers of consuming too much sugar becoming increasingly prevalent, Prior decided to demonstrate to the world just what effect a daily dose of 10 Coca-Colas would have on the average person's health.

Study after study shows the ill effects excess refined starches and sugars have on the human body...

I have helped people with low carb dieting and it is amazing how much better they feel and how fast their bodies recover even after years of not taking care of themselves just by dropping sugar from their diet

What does someone expect when taking massive amounts of high-caloric, high-sugar, low nutrition "food" into their bodies? Gee, who would have thought that would make you ill?

While the body can certainly heal itself, why cause intentional damage to it? Surely that is unnecessary stress to the body.

Reminds one of the movie "Super-size Me."

I have wondered the same thing, why do these people keep doing these self tests...

Then i drive past several fast food places going down the highway and see hundreds of people

doing basically the same thing without giving it a single thought...

Interesting to note that Coke was originally developed as a pharmaceutical aid to help counter addiction. It was sold by the glass, but is probably best known as a 6.5 oz bottle that has now morphed into a can of about twice the content. Dare I say ... I'll drink to that.

Yeah and the original had actual cocaine in it,so im sure that helped keep off a few pounds...

Well, I guess I can understand that the guy wanted to find out for himself rather than just going by what the "experts" say considering all the information and often misinformation that is out there but..that did seem pretty extreme.

At least he knows what happens when you guzzle all that cola.

I drink 6 every day for the past 8 years. Coke is something you almost never see me without one. I appear healthy and fit but I am fatigued a lot and that pushes me to get another coke. This article has made me think maybe it’s time to stop.

Funny

This guy could have just asked me what would happen

I used to drink 2+ litres of coke cola EVERY day as a kid

10 years later and my bladder is screwed and I can't eat or drink anything high in sugar and cannot drink alcohol, if I do it causes me immense pain and I have to pee every 15mins, I have to go to pee every hour of every day now

After a couple of tests it was revealed the cola cola weakened my bladder limit to such an extent that it caused this

I'm not sure how he could get past the taste. The first coke I ever drank, was also the last.

Coke originally contain cocaine, hence the name.

I don't see why the results are surprising. At least 2000 calories per day were added to his intake. I didn't see any reference to no or less food except he couldn't finish his meals properly. The 5 lbs he lost in the first week was from retained water. Again no big surprise. The interesting study would have been if all his calories came from the Coke and nothing else. He could have taken a fiber supplement to keep his intestinal track happy.

I completely turned my blood chemistry around in 90 days using simple produce and cutting out sugar and cutting down on meat.

I went into a-fib, while under anesthetic in surgery. While then undergoing the battery of tests during the process of treating the a-fib, it was revealed that my poor diet and genetic disposition had given rise to high blood sugar, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. My GP immediately laid out a series of pharmaceuticals that I would be on, some for the rest of my life he explained.

"no ******* way" I said.

I explained that I'd recently met a profound teacher and learned some very potent information about food healing and that I wanted to take 90 days to try it and see how it worked... if it didn't, I would agree to the pills.

I cut out all sugar for that 90 days, cut out caffeine, cut about half the meat from my diet and began a daily smoothie of high phytochemical produce.

My GP was astounded when he ran my blood through the gamut after the 90 days. Blood sugar normal, blood pressure normal, bad cholesterol down, and without trying anything else, dropped 20 lbs.

He wanted a detailed list of what I ate and he went out and got himself the same blender I used for my smoothies.

That was around three years ago. Haven't taken a pill since we cleared up the a-fib.

Food is either our most effective medicine, or slow poison.

Pour a little cola into a saucer or small bowl, drop the dirtiest penny you can find into it and leave it overnight. When you pull the penny out, you'll find the acid in the cola ate off the outer layer of metal. It does the same thing to the lining of your stomach and intestines...

somehow every use for Coke (mechanical, repair) is better than health use (drinking it)

I don't think this guy is making anything up, but from my own experience, I have my doubts. Maybe there's a big difference between Coke and Pepsi. I have been drinking 6-8 cans of Pepsi every day for at least the past 10 years. My blood pressure is fine, and the last visit I made to my family doctor, he said my blood-work looked better than his.

Or, maybe I'm just an exception.

When I was younger low carb diets really helped me lose weight. As I've gotten older I notice it doesn't work as well. Even so, I do feel better when I limit my pasta and breads.

From what I was once told (keep in mind that I never did look this up), this was even more true before they changed the formula in the 80s. New Coke had less phosphoric acid than the original, but when the outcry was too great, the original formula was restored, but with a new preservative cocktail with less phosphoric acid. The tail was you could put a nail in it and it would dissolve over night. I remember my dad cleaning a flue to our wood stove with a can of coke way back in the day.

I'll still drink it from time to time usually with rum, I do enjoy the taste, but it should probably not in any way be a regular part of anyone's regular diet.

I find it hard to believe that after going to third world countries and the poorest, most remote places in Mexico, you will still find someone selling Coka-Cola. This is an industry that has more addicts than oil.

I'm going to go out on a limb biologically. How long does what we drink stay in the stomach before it's sent on through? Maybe not long enough to accumulate damage? Do our own gastric juices neutralize it? Just wondering.

When I switched from drinking Mountain Dew to Diet Coke, and gave up potato chips, I lost 5 pounds in one week.
